Dit is een klassieke Bordeaux in de puurste zin van het woord, eentje die al generaties lang geliefd is – en niet voor niets de status van 3e Grand Cru Classé draagt.

Deze wijn is een elegante blend, vaak met een meerderheid van Cabernet Sauvignon, aangevuld met Merlot en soms een beetje Cabernet Franc. Dat geeft hem die herkenbare persoonlijkheid: denk aan donker fruit zoals cassis en zwarte kersen, subtiel verweven met tonen van potloodslijpsel, cederhout en een vleugje kruiden. De tannines zijn aanwezig, maar prachtig geïntegreerd, wat zorgt voor een fluweelzachte afdronk.

Deze Saint-Julien combineert fantastisch met gerechten zoals een sappige rundersteak, lamsvlees of een stevige paddenstoelenrisotto.
