De BONE IN BEEF SHORT RIB LOLLY wordt gemaakt van een ‘standaard’ Black Angus short rib. Het membraan wordt verwijderd, zo ook de middelste 2 van de 4 ribben. Dan wordt het vlees horizontaal doorgesneden en wordt om beide buitenste ribben een helft gerold en opgebonden.
Deze Rib lolly weegt nu ongeveer 600 gram.
Voor de perfecte smaak moet je deze low and slow bereiden en reken daarbij op een uur of 8 op de BBQ. Uiteraard kan je hem ook in je oven maken.
Kruid de lolly eerst met je favoriete rub, bijvoorbeeld: Grate Goods Beef or Steak.
In de begin fase hebben we wat rookhout toegevoegd.
Na een uur of 4 op 90 graden hebben we onze lolly rondom ingesmeerd met Smokeys Finest BBQ saus. Dit hebben we later nog een paar keer herhaald.
De sauce karameliseert mooi op het vlees en voorkomt uitdrogen.
Inmiddels hebben we de temperatuur iets opgeschroefd naar krap 110 graden. en houden we de kern temperatuur goed in de gaten.
De Grain Fed Black Angus short Rib heeft mooi intramusculair vet zoals dat zo mooi heet. Ofwel die mooie witte vetlijntjes in het rode vlees. Deze zorgen voor de lekkere smaak.
Rond de 65 graden kerntemperatuur gaat dit vet smelten, dat is het moment om de lolly in te pakken in aluminium folie om te zorgen dat deze niet uitdroogt. 2 vellen is genoeg.
Dan terugzetten en rustig door laten garen naar een kerntemperatuur van 90 - 95 graden. Daarna hebben we de lolly met nog wat extra aluminium folie ingepakt en leggen we hem nog een klein half uurtje weg op kamertemperatuur zodat het vlees nog verder ontspant en vocht opneemt en maken ondertussen de gepofte tomaatjes en de rozeval aardappeltjes met wat truffelmayonaise.
Als we de lolly doorsnijden valt het vlees bijna uit elkaar, zo boterzacht.
Het is niet veel werk, vergt wel veel geduld, maar dan leg je ook wel wat op je plank.
Wij gaan ze in elk geval zeker vaker maken.

Didn't even last an hour!

I had high hopes for these toys as the description sounded like they might be not easily destructible. Well, I was dissapointed again. Our shih-poo (half shih-tzu/ half minature poodle) had one of the toys apart in an hour. See photo.

Stuffed with Plastic

So these are super cute and they have crinkle sounds and a squeaker, but these would not be suitable for chewers. The have plastic stuffing in the legs and my dog almost choked on it...so I just have to tell you that these may be ok for smaller dogs but mine is 30 pounds and he ripped through it and started eating the plastic crinkle stuffing.

Great dog toys

These Zeaxuie octopus dog toys are a huge hit with my pup! The crinkle and squeaky features immediately grabbed his attention, and he’s been happily chewing and playing with them ever since. Tough toys!

We have 2 deogs, a large Aussie and a small terrior. The little guy is very hard on toys. Few last a full day. We have thrown away hundreds of $ worth of toys, We have had these for a few months, and he has not managed to destoy them yet. They get played with a lot because he has very few toys. I keep trying to find toys which will survive this dog. He hjas even destroyed Kong toys which are pretty tough, but has not destroyed these. I wrote this review as I cam back to order more toys from this company, because it is great to have some which can stand up to his abuse.
