De oude Benefizio wijngaard geeft door de jaren heen steeds mooiere en vollere trossen. Dat komt mede door het perfecte leefklimaat, veel zonneschijn zorgt voor geparfumeerde druiven. En de koelte geeft de druiven een mooie frisheid en zorgt voor een evenwichtig groeiseizoen. Bij de perfecte rijpheid worden de Chardonnay druiven met de hand geoogst en in kleine kratjes naar Frescobaldi gebracht. Er volgt zowel in de wijngaard als bij aankomst in de kelders van Frescobaldi een strenge selectie plaats. Want alleen het mooiste sap mag worden verwerkt voor deze witte Benefizio wijn. De most wordt na de persing in barriques geplaatst, waarvan de helft nieuw is, om alcoholische gisting en een deel van de malolactische gisting mogelijk te maken. De Benefizio wijn rijpt vervolgens tien maanden in houten vaten op de droesem. Dit is nog niet alles want pas na een korte fles rijping van vier maanden worden de flessen verkocht en kunnen we genieten van deze top wijn.De geur en smaak van de Frescobaldi Benefizio Pomino
De kleur van deze wijn is strogeel en doet al veel goeds vermoeden. De geur is overweldigend met mooie aroma’s van perzik, peer, noten en vanille. De smaak heeft wel wat aandacht nodig. Ga er allereerst maar eens goed voor zitten. Wat een krachtpatser deze witte wijn van Frescobaldi. Mooie nuances van zoethout, perzik en licht geroosterde noten. Ethiopia is an essential nation-state in Africa. It has a great civilization and history. The reign of Johannes IV was crucial to the Kingdom of Ethiopia. Moreover, Haile Selassie was another vital emperor. Ethiopia suffered under communism. Currently, Ethiopia faces foreign challenges from its neighbors and political corruption domestically. Specifically, political unrest dominates the domestic life of Ethiopia. The author presents and discusses the achievements and challenges of the Ethiopian people from Ancient Times to Modern Times. It is a well-written book.

It is a very concrete and well written history of Ethiopia. While traveling in a photo tour I decided I wanted to know more of the contrasting country my shoes were on. I think this short book completes my need to my entire satisfaction

Informative, compact history of rulers, religion and struggles.
Format: Kindle
This book is well written. It filled out my knowledge of Ethiopia, which was mostly that it was isolated from neighbors and most empires. I had heard of biblical contacts, two Italian invasions, civil wars and famines.
In this book I learned of contacts with ancient Rome, Byzantium, the Ottomans, and Arabs. Trade carried on the silk road, and by sea. There was influence of Judaism, Islam and competing Christian sects. The sequence of leaders were covered as well as how they came to power. Many conflicts are covered, insurrections and invasions. The Haile Selassie period is covered, as well as his downfall. Then the military period is covered, with communism and factionalism. Finally the recent period is covered,up to the present civil wars of 2022.
I would recommend this compact book, for anyone planning a visit, or wanting background knowledge.

A Rough, Rocky Start
Format: Kindle
Modern Africa started after a long rough and rocky start. This book describes the trials each district has had to face to gain their freedom from Europe and what life was like in each district under the control of foreigners. As WWI began, many of Africa's districts were effected, some were forced to supply fighting men, some had their resources used to support the war effort, and some had fighting in their area. When WWII started Africa found that not much had changed. However, as Africa gained its freedom and became self governing internal wars broke out between the different tribes. Well, you will have to read the book to find out how that turned out. This book covers all that and so much more. It all written in an easy to read and understand format that Captivating History is known for and as always they do a great job of explaining everything. This is a great book and recommend you giving it a read.
