Op The Kik Hertaalt Eurovisie neemt de Rotterdamse band een ieder mee langs ouder- en nieuwerwets Songfestivalmateriaal. Origineel, rijk georchestreerd en briljant uitgevoerd zoals alleen The Kik dat kan. “Stuk voor stuk wereldhits die je dagelijks om je heen hoort, maar dan vrij vertaald, hertaald, in je moerstaal” aldus Dave von Raven. Op uitnodiging van Beau van Erven Dorens speelde The Kik bekende Eurovisie Songfestival hits rond de afgelopen editie vanuit Rotterdam. The Kik slingerde deze op de spreekwoordelijke band en bracht de vijf hertalingen als een EP uit. Dit smaakte naar meer. Al jaren steekt Dave von Raven zijn fascinatie en liefde voor het bekendste muziekfestival van (in ieder geval) Europa, niet onder stoelen of banken. En dan met name die voor de kwalitatief hoogstaande popsongs. Denk aan Abba, France Gall, Maggie MacNeal en aan The Common Linnets, maar ook aan Dana International en Bucks Fizz.
