DOW's White Port Master Blend is gemaakt van druiven uit de Quinta do Sol wijngaard. Alleen traditionele witte druiven van de Douro vallei zijn gebruikt. De White Master Blend is 100% gefermenteerd zonder schil en onder een gecontroleerde temperatuur zodat de fermentatie plaatsvindt tussen de 18 en 20 graden C. Gemiddelde rijping van 3 jaar waarna direct gebotteld wordt. Verdere rijping op fles is dan niet nodig, de Port is op dronk. Een verfijnd en verfrissend aperitief wanneer gekoeld. Ook heerlijk in een longdrink geserveerd met ijs, tonic en citroen.DOW's White Port Master Blend rijpt voornamelijk op hout waardoor hij een rijke, gouden kleur krijgt met intense aroma's van noten. Een deel van de wijn die wordt gebruikt is niet houtgerijpt, dit voegt fris- en fruitigheid toe aan het karakter van de wijn. In de smaak is hij gebalanceerd en zacht met mooie zuren en een lange afdronk.Een friszoet aperitief met intense aroma's van amandelen en bloesem en een zachte, lange afdronk.Wanneer men hem gekoeld serveert, is het een voortreffelijk aperitief. Wonderful and short introduction to plate tectonics for those with little background in Earth science or mathematics
Format: Paperback
Molnar does an excellent job explaining key elements of plate tectonics. His book is understandable even for those with little background in geology or geophysics. Molnar, an expert on mountain building, nicely explains how collisions of plates with continents atop cause mountain belts to form. He also questions the limitations of plate tectonics in explaining formation of such mountains. Understanding Molnar's very short book requires little mathematics. An ideal text for college science courses for non-science majors, and for those who want to understand the evolution of Earth's geological features and phenomena.

Easy to read
Format: Paperback
The book was an easy to read discussion of plate tectonics. The technical terms were easily understood and presented in an interest manner. Technically sound and entertaining is a winning combination for a science book! I wold recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic but is not a scientist in the field.

Very short and very good

I read this book or one similar to it my senior year in high school 1970. It absolutely caught my attention as a way to explain why the continents had separated from Gondwanaland.

There are few who are capable of telling the story of plate techtonics including critical details. Peter Molnar is one of those chosen few who can deliver such a story succinctly and precisely.
