Eindhovense pophelden Dennis Grotenhuis en Roel Blommers trekken samen op sinds het woeste punkrockavontuur dat The Spades heette. Hierna bleven ze liedjes schrijven, arrangeren en opnemen. Plaat na plaat verscheen, telkens anders, telkens rijker en telkens onder een andere naam. Ze meenden het hijgen van de hete adem van de popindustrie in hun nek te voelen. Maar bestaat die adem eigenlijk wel? Waren ze niet zelf de bron van die hete adem? Ziedaar The Föhns. Gas terug en de diepte in. Op hun debuut dertien schitterend uitgewerkte luisterliedjes in powerpopvermomming. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
