Beschrijving

De Britse Centurion tank is van na de Tweede Wereldoorlog en groeide uit tot een toonaangevende tank in zijn klasse. In mei 1945 waren de eerste Centurions geproduceerd, maar tot inzet tijdens de oorlog kwam het niet. De tanks speelden wel een belangrijke rol in de Koreaanse oorlog (1950 - 1953). Centurions konden wedijveren met de modernste tanks, waaronder de Sovjet T-55. In de online game 'World of Tanks' is de Centurion een Tier-8 medium tank.

Wist je dat?

Nederland beschikte in totaal over 591 Centurion-tanks, die instroomden in de periode 1953-1956. Eigenlijk wilde Nederland liever de Amerikaanse M47 Patton tank hebben, maar daar waren er niet genoeg van beschikbaar. De Centurion bewees echter zijn waarde en was een grote verbetering ten opzichte van de toenmalige verouderde Shermans en Ram-tanks die dienst deden bij de Nederlandse strijdkrachten.

Had for just over 9 years now and still pretty solid

I ordered this chair back in December 2015 for our front office, and it's been moved to our back shop where we fabricate. We're not a gentle work space by any stretch of the imagination; we build stuff and it's messy, lots of tools etc. This chair has held up surprisingly well! The faux leather is delaminating almost entirely on the seat but honestly, I'd expect that for faux leather on something that is used daily. The seat pad, in my opinion, has gotten de-poofed. So it's not plush anymore but still usable. I've asked the guy that's using it if they want an upgrade/update and they said they like it and don't want to change it out just yet. That's saying something! The size is nice and wide. We've had a range of differently sized folks sit in the chair over the years and the seat was always comfortable (less now without so much seat poof), I was able to sit cross-legged and the whole chair felt sturdy then as it does now. All of the standards functions you'd want an office chair to do, it can still do: it goes up and down smoothly, it rolls just fine, it's still pivot-reclines comfortably and doesn't feel like it's going to topple. I like it!
