Ze waren onder de indruk van het prachtige landschap aan de voet van de Pyreneen, waar ze bovendien twee Bourgondische iconen aantroffen: chardonnay en de pinot noir. Nu

We bevinden ons in de Haute Vallée de l'Aude, appellatie Limoux. De Bourgondische families Collovray & Terrier hadden samen al een succesvol wijnbedrijf in de Mâcon toen ze hier in 1997 een nieuw wijnavontuur startten met Domaine Altugnac, vijftig kilometer ten zuiden van Carcassonne. Ze waren onder de indruk van het prachtige landschap aan de voet van de Pyreneëen, waar ze bovendien twee Bourgondische iconen aantroffen: chardonnay en de pinot noir. Nu runnen ze hier 95 hectare wijngaard, die de helft witte en de helft rode wijnen oplevert. Op 350-500 meter hoogte profiteren hun druiven van een iets koeler mediterraan bergklimaat, de Pyreneëen zijn immers niet ver weg.

Beschrijving: Rijke wijn met structuur, fijne zuren, romig, kruiden, iets toast, gemaakt in een bourgogne stijl.

Lekker bij: Gevogelte, kaas, vis, tapas.

Leuk weetje: De vergisting en rijping gaat de wijn voor voor 12 maanden in eikenhouten vaten (20% nieuw) en rust nog tot het voorjaar in staaltank.
