Gebruik

De Booster BJJ Band is ontwikkeld voor Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training en wedstrijden op elk niveau. Een goede band is meer dan een accessoire, het is het symbool van je inzet, je ontwikkeling en je plek in de hiërarchie op de mat. Geschikt voor:

Materiaal en constructie

De band is vervaardigd uit wedstrijdkwaliteit katoen, een traditionele en gewaardeerde materiaalkeuze in de BJJ-wereld. Katoen biedt een natuurlijk gevoel, een goede stevigheid en een textuur die soepel om de taille knoopt zonder weg te glijden tijdens grappen. De versterkte stiksels zorgen ervoor dat de band ook na honderden trainingen en wasbeurten zijn vorm behoudt. De rank bar (zwart uiteinde voor de gekleurde banden, wit voor de zwarte band) is verstevigd en ontworpen om kleur en structuur te behouden, wat belangrijk is bij het bijhouden van je voortgang met graduatiestreepjes.

Maatadvies

De Booster BJJ Band is verkrijgbaar in vier maten. Het is belangrijk om de juiste maat te kiezen, zodat de band na het knopen voldoende lengte heeft om netjes af te hangen, zonder te lang te worden:

  • A1 – circa 420 cm
  • A2 – circa 435 cm
  • A3 – circa 460 cm
  • A4 – circa 480 cm

Algemene richtlijn: kies de bandmaat die overeenkomt met de maat van je gi. Twijfel je tussen twee maten? Kies dan de grotere variant voor extra knooplengte.

Onderhoud

Was de band af en toe op koud, bij voorkeur in een waszakje, en hang hem te drogen aan de lucht. Vermijd hoge temperaturen en de droger om krimp en kleurvervaging tegen te gaan. Regelmatig wassen is uit hygiënisch oogpunt aan te raden, zeker omdat de band tijdens het rollen veelvuldig in contact komt met de mat en bezweet sportkleding.

Belangrijk

De band wordt geleverd zonder rangstrepen. Het toekennen van een hogere kleur of het toevoegen van graduatiestreepjes gebeurt door je BJJ-instructeur volgens de tradities van de sport. Forceer dit proces niet, je band verdien je op de mat.

It was worth every cent

I have BPPV. It's a condition where tiny ear crystals come out of place and move within your ear canals - this fools your brain into thinking you're in motion, causing severe dizziness. The most common treatment is the Epley Maneuver, and that actually helps a lot. However, I was going through a period where every single day I'd wake up with severe dizziness. Even if I managed to do the Epley Maneuver and it worked, the entire rest of the day would be ruined because I'd still feel generally unwell and nauseous. I ended up getting a book about BPPV and the author strongly recommended sleeping at at least a 30 degree angle. So, that's why I ended up buying this wedge pillow... I started using it April 26 and today is May 17. Since I began using it as a pillow, I have not woke up dizzy again. That is so huge! It may be that sleeping at a 30 degree angle deserves 5 Stars but thought I'd give this pillow 5 Stars too, as it's been a great experience. If you suffer from this, here's how the angle should be...If you lay your head on a pillow and open your eyes, you should not be looking at the ceiling. With the right angle, you should be looking at where the wall meets the ceiling. If so, you know you're at the right angle. As far as pillow itself, I'd say the pillow case fabric is of average quality. Not really remarkable in any way. It seems decent. Good value for the price. The inside is firm (which is just what I needed) but comfortable, and I tend to not move around much the entire night. I like this very much and if it does start wearing out, I'll definitely come back here and buy another. Would recommend.

It's very comfortable doing both now. It does a really good job at being a nice support for the back of my bed. Only negative is I feel it's too firm. I wouldn't use it as a primary pillow, but it's definitely good for back support at least. While I won't mark it down for this, I do find it very large. If you have anything smaller then a queen it may take up more of your bed then you'd like. Definitely recommend. Hopefully will last quite a long while as well.

Nice wedge pillow but not enough...

It came compacted and when I opened it expanded almost immediately, maybe took like 20 minutes to fully decompress. Its soft and comfortable and the cover is really nice. But it does have a strong chemical smell, which is normal for this kind of brand new memory foam, I just put it on a table with a window open near it and after maybe 24 hours the smell was almost completely gone. The problem is that I bought this to have a elevated position when sleeping but the 30° are just not enough for me. I wish it was at least 45° but I could not find any pillow with that amount of degree... it's either 30° or like 75° in the other position. At the base of the pillow there is a little ridge that is comfortable for the lower back but makes me slide down in the middle of the night so I end up almost laying flat with my neck on the base ridge. With my slim build my lumbar area gets some nice support but makes my head almost have a "fall backwards" sensation, I like having my neck have a "push-forward" position with my pillow, but when adding another pillow to try and get to a comfortable position it only makes me slide down even more... :/
