Met The West Kingdom Tomesaga kan je de drie spellen uit de 'The West Kingdom' trilogie coöperatief of in een campaign-variant spelen. Om gebruik te kunnen maken van alle inhoud, heb je de drie spellen uit de trilogie nodig (Architects of the West Kingdom, Paladins of the West Kingdom, Viscounts of the West Kingdom). Je kan ook met één of twee spellen uit de serie spelen, maar dan kan je niet al het materiaal gebruiken.Bouw het koninkrijk op, verdedig de grenzen en vergroot je invloed over het hele land. In de campagnemodus strijden de spelers in een epische reis om de meeste boekdelen te verzamelen en hun plaats in de kronieken van hun volk te verdienen. Als alternatief kunnen spelers in plaats daarvan samenwerken om het op te nemen tegen de meedogenloze Overlord in aparte samenwerkingsmodi voor elk spel in de West-Koninkrijk Trilogie.
De speelduur hangt heel erg af van het aantal spelers en de gekozen variant. Alle inhoud kan met 1 tot 4 spelers gespeeld worden, maar er zijn ook sommige varianten waarbij je met 5 tot 6 kan spelen.
