El Coto 875m is een witte wijn van de Chardonnay-variëteit uit El Coto de Rioja. El Coto de Rioja werd opgericht in 1970 en slaagde er in recordtijd in om een van de meest populaire wijnmakerijen in La Rioja te worden. De druiven voor El Coto 875m zijn afkomstig van La Finca Carbonera, een landgoed op maximaal 875 meter boven zeeniveau. De wijngaard staat op een glacis met een flauwe helling en een grote opeenhoping van stenen die helpen de druiven gezond te houden en hun rijping stimuleren.Het succesverhaal van El Coto de Rioja
El Coto is een zeer succesvol bedrijf. Ze beschikken over ruim 700 hectare aan wijngaarden verdeeld over 7 verschillende locaties. Hierdoor zijn de wijnmakers in staat om een optimale diversiteit aan druivenaanbod te krijgen. Het begon allemaal met een groep wijnboeren die in eerste instantie hun oogst verkochten aan de grotere wijnhuizen. Zij wilde toch liever hun eigen wijn maken, zeker aangezien hun oogst fenomenaal was. Vanuit hier is het bijzonder grote wijnhuis ontstaan in de Rioja. Inmiddels hebben veel wijnboeren zich aangesloten bij El Coto en is er voornamelijk geïnvesteerd in het verbeteren van de wijngaarden en de wijntechnieken. In 2017 opende El Coto de Rioja het wijnhuis in zijn Finca Carbonera om de witte variëteiten die het daar verbouwt te vinificeren.Vinificatie van El Coto de Rioja 875m Chardonnay
Om El Coto 875m te produceren wordt de druif ontsteeld en koud geweekt. Het wordt dan voorzichtig ingedrukt. Tijdens de voorgisting wordt de druif beschermd tegen zuurstof om oxidatie en microbiële aanvallen te voorkomen. De gisting vindt plaats bij 16 graden om de fruitige aroma's van de variëteit te extraheren en te behouden, en komt terecht in niet geroosterde vaten om te voorkomen dat geroosterde aroma's de uiteindelijke wijn bereiken, en het typische karakter van de Chardonnay wordt ten volle gerespecteerd. Aan het einde van de gisting blijft de wijn in contact met de droesem en worden periodieke battonages uitgevoerd, waarbij de droesem wordt geroerd, om de wijn complexiteit, smeuïgheid en romigheid te geven. El Coto 875m is een complexe en interessante wijn waarin fruit en tropische aroma's worden gecombineerd met vanille en romigheid.Shipping Notes

Smaller than pictured

It’s a lot smaller than pictured and I have the same dog type as was depicted in the one of the pictures. The dog like it so I guess that’s good. I will not be playing tug of war with him using this. I like my fingers thank you very much. I would say it durable. He destroys most toys in minutes. He did destroy the squeaky part in about 10 minutes so bonus points for that.

Great for dogs like to to chew and like squeakers!

Harder to hold up to his bites. He started to pounce on it to make it squeak like he was honking the horn. He likes it and carries it around the house. Its a must buy for medium to large dogs

Dog & I Disagree/ Aggressive Chewers Short-Term Toy

This is day two, and, My dog LOVED this toy! He loved the squeaking aspect, chewing the center squeaky area so he could squeak it himself (adorable!). He also loved playing fetch with it, but he loves fetch, but this was fun for him as it wasn't a ball. The chewing enjoyment is where it was at for him as he Loves to chew, and it was a nice weight that he could really carry around and have fun.
I did love this toy, as it was cute, and he was having such a great time with it! Until his teeth kept getting stuck in the rubber around the center squeaker area when getting it to squeak by himself. That was almost it, but he LOVES this toy, so I gave it another chance. Then, one of his teeth got stuck in the center and his teeth became hooked on the top of the outer round and he couldn't get it out of his mouth. That was the End.
Perhaps more size options, small, medium, and large, with safer spaces, at each size, between the squeaker area and the outer ring- so they can squeak it, yet avoid getting their teeth stuck and/or their mouths stuck open. I would say the durability is lacking, as, while similar, a Benebone it is not, though it gets sharp too-ouch! He had the outer rounds pretty tore up on the first day, and even more tore up today, so if you have a truly aggressive chewer, this is also a short term toy. This is a fun toy and many love it, though many more could love it with a few modifications.
As it is, I did not find it a value for my money, even with as much fun as he had; at this time, the safety aspect and the ease with which he chewed it requires I look somewhere else. I hope this helps.

Plastic cut my dog

If your pet chews a lot do not buy. My dog chewed the plastic and cut her nose when grabbing the toy because of how sharp it became.

Great for aggressive chewers

This toy held up well. My dog is a very aggressive chewer and will shred apart any toy she can. She was not able to tear up this one. I have not found many toys that she doesn't destroy
