De Sorbus hybrida 'Gibbsii' is een rondvormige Sorbus met een dichte kroon. Deze soort valt onder de Rosaceae familie en kan 5 á 7 meter hoog worden. De Sorbus hybrida 'Gibbsii' heeft een mat donkergroen blad en verkleurd in de herfst naar een opvallende herfstkleur met oranje en rode tinten. In mei toont de boom een witte bloesem, waarna er rode vruchten aan de boom verschijnen. De besjes zijn aantrekkelijk voor vogels, dus zorgen voor biodiversiteit in uw tuin.

De Sorbus hybrida 'Gibbsii' wordt in de Nederlandse benaming ook wel de Finse meelbes genoemd.

Deze meelbes is kleiner van formaat en daarom geschikt om zowel in een kleinere tuin als in een grotere tuin te planten. De boom staat het liefste op een plek in de zon of halfschaduw. Hij is goed winterhard en kan goed tegen de wind, en kan in halfverharding geplaatst worden. De boom is te planten in vrijwel elke grondsoort, dus zand- leem- en kleigrond. De boom is gewoonlijk niet giftig voor mensen of dieren, dus is ook geschikt om nabij een wei te planten. Aan de boom verschijnt in mei een witte bloesem, deze bloesem is erg aantrekkelijk voor bijen en vlinders.

De Sorbus hybrida 'Gibbsii' wordt vaak als aanplanting gebruikt in brede straten, parken, grote en kleine tuinen, daktuinen en pleinen. De boom kan indien nodig vanaf november t/m februari en juni t/m augustus gesnoeid worden. De eerste twee groeiseizoenen heeft de boom genoeg water nodig, wekelijks één grote gift. Good but confusing instructions
It is very glowy. After spraying this on my husband commented on why I was sweating so much 😹 I told him it’s my face mist spf. I have very dry and very sensitive skin and this has not broken me out (yet). I’ve used it for about a week now. I don’t know how much sun protection I’m really getting though. And reapplying it all through out the day, esp in the summer will lead to very very oily looking skin. It’s also confusing because it says do not spray directly onto face. (?)
