Powerful Women

Spanning an international orchestral of female voices, from Poland, Singapore, Spain, Serbia, Brazil, Taiwan, and beyond, Powerful Women brings together unique illustrations and individual stories from around the world. Each card in this deck includes a detailed illustration by an artist, as well as their name, home nation, and an Instagram or website where you can find them. Each given complete creative freedom with the project, turning over each card shifts the deck’s user through artistic styles, color schemes, and chosen mediums. Alongside each illustration, the artists have also had the opportunity to include a short paragraph of text. Some use this space to explain their artwork, delving into the meaning of certain symbols or why they decided to create what they did. Alternatively, other artists have used the space to tell a story, deliver a message, or offer support to the user of the deck. The project came about in 2019 after women around the globe issued and completed a creative challenged named #PowerfulWomenWeek, with the main task being creating art about the strength within women. Alongside the international selection of artists, each aspect focused on by the artists differs greatly, with them all reacting differently to the prompt. With a superb message, delicate selection of art, and a powerful message of strength, Powerful Women is truly a sight to behold.
