Dolcetto d’Alba van Luigi Pira is het soort wijn dat je zonder aarzelen op tafel zet, puur Piemontese traditie in een glas dat bruist van sappig rood fruit en eerlijke charme. Deze cuvée komt uit Serralunga d’Alba en laat zien hoe Dolcetto spanning, frisheid en drinkplezier verenigt wanneer herkomst en kelderwerk precies in balans zijn.

Wijngaarden en regio

De druiven komen van noordelijk georiënteerde percelen rond 330 meter hoogte in Serralunga d’Alba. De bodem bestaat uit kalkhoudende klei en geeft geurzuiverheid, fijne tannines en een koele, knapperige fruitexpressie. De aanplant loopt van 1980 tot 2010 en beslaat ongeveer 2 hectare, volledig in handen van de familie Pira. Het is Dolcetto uit Barolo-land, maar met de nadruk op direct plezier aan tafel.

Vinificatie en rijping

De vergisting vindt plaats in roestvrij staal met temperatuurcontrole gedurende ongeveer 8 tot 10 dagen zodat kers, bes en florale tonen helder blijven. Aansluitend rijpt de wijn circa 8 maanden in roestvrij staal, bewust zonder hout om de fruitgedreven stijl en het dorstlessende karakter te behouden. Temperatuurgecontroleerde vergisting betekent dat de gisting koel en constant blijft waardoor aroma’s puur blijven en de tannines fijner aanvoelen.

Druivensamenstelling

Samenstelling 100 procent Dolcetto uit Serralunga d’Alba. Dolcetto is een historische Piemontese druif die lokaal al generaties lang dagelijks wordt geschonken vanwege sappig rood fruit, milde tannines, een subtiel amandeltoontje en een droge, schone finale.

Proefnotities en serveertips

Robijnrood met paarse schakering. In de neus kers, rood bosfruit en viooltjes met een hint witte peper en amandel. De smaak is soepel en levendig met rijpe kers, cranberry en fijne kruiden, gedragen door frisse zuren en zachte tannines. Is dit de ideale wijn bij pizza, en waarom werkt dat zo goed? Door het sappige fruit, de milde structuur en het droge einde sluit hij perfect aan bij tomaat, mozzarella en hartige toppings. Schenk op 14 tot 16 graden bij pizza Margherita, funghi of salami, bij pasta met ragù of bij antipasti met paddenstoelen en halfharde kazen.

This was more than I expected...

So...I finished this book at nearly 2am! It was just that hard to put down. I loved that it's set in the same world as Fates Hollow but in the future. Poor Pandora has been through so much but there's light at the end of the tunnel for her. She finally meets her dad and it turns out he's amazing. In order to help her learn about demon society and how to control her magic he sends her to the Demon Reform Academy. There she meets 2 awesome demons who help her and care for her. She also sadly meets her 3 tormentors. I will say though that while they do bully Pandora they also rescue her several times and defend her. They too have traumatizing pasts and can't see the good that is in front of them. Of course demon society needs to be shaken up too since that's part of the problem. I really enjoyed this read. I teared up a few times throughout the book but I liked the characters and that ending...well it looks like 3 in denial are going to need to grovel hard.

This book is about Pandora learning how to live, learning about herself and what she really wants. She has a long journey to find out all of these things, but she took the first steps in this book and it was beautiful to read. Some of the men in this book are our dream men, Hunter and Reed 😍 and then we have the men who need some work and who we all really just want to beat up until they admit what they really feel, Skel, Bram and Dexter. But that cliffy was a killer and I absolutely cannot wait until the next book!! You have written an absolute dream of a book Lyra and I eagerly await the next installment in this series!!!

I could not stop reading. It was so refreshing to have a series start so completely different than most fated mates/fantasy academy rh I’ve been reading. From the desert scenery to the magic and feeding plus the psychological trauma the characters are there to deal with. Pandora is absolutely adorable and I totally relate to hiding behind my hair. I love that she’s literally the most scary type of demon but it’s not the usual “badass mc” persona (which I do love a badass that can fend for herself and kick ass from the start but it was a nice change of pace). I’m not usually a big fan of bully within the harem but each character has their reasons for their actions and also conflicting feelings about them. I adore Dex and Reed! Complete opposites but their personalities and inner monologues made them instant favs. I can’t wait to see the character growth with the guys and continued strength for Pandora. The captivating characters and references to the Fate Hallow series added so much depth and now I need another reread while I wait for book 2. The concept of magic and the unique feeding habits of the demon characters were intriguing. I can't wait for the next book to continue this thrilling journey. In summary, this book is a must-read for fantasy and magic academy rh fans. With its enchanting characters, nods to the Fate Hallow series, and imaginative concepts, it offers an immersive reading experience that hwill leave you craving for more.

They might hurt her, but they also can’t seem to stay away when she’s in danger, making for some deliciously complicated dynamics. This book hits so many of my favorite tropes: friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, and of course, the irresistible “who hurt you?” storyline. I devoured it, and I’m already diving straight into book two!
