Deze klankschaal Chaken uit Nepal nodigt je uit tot een moment van rust en verstilling. Met haar heldere, zuivere klank en rijke boventonen haal je een prachtig ritueelobject in huis. De binnenkant van de schaal heeft een warme bronzen kleur, terwijl de buitenkant donker is, wat een mooie diepte en uitstraling geeft.

Handgehamerde klankschalen

Elke klankschaal wordt met veel aandacht en vakmanschap gemaakt. Het proces is volledig handmatig en vraagt geduld en precisie. Eerst worden verschillende metalen zoals koper, tin, ijzer, lood, goud en zilver in een oven gesmolten. Voor deze bronzen schaal zijn koper en tin de hoofdbestanddelen. Het gesmolten metaal wordt in mallen gegoten en in schijven gesneden, die op maat en gewicht worden geselecteerd.

Daarna volgt het zorgvuldig hamerwerk, waarbij vijf of meer schijven op elkaar gelegd en roodgloeiend verhit worden. Vervolgens hakt de vakman de schijven stuk voor stuk in vorm met behulp van een mal. Omdat het metaal moet blijven gloeien om niet te scheuren, vraagt dit veel ervaring en aandacht.

Het fijne afwerkingsproces is minstens zo belangrijk. De schaal wordt opnieuw verhit, zorgvuldig gehamerd en nauwkeurig gevormd om de zuivere toon te krijgen die je zo waardeert. Tot slot worden buiten- en binnenkant geschuurd, gepolijst en soms met kleine beitels bewerkt voor een bijzondere afwerking.

Let op: omdat deze klankschaal met de hand gehamerd wordt, kan de diameter iets variëren. De aangegeven maat is ter indicatie.

Perfect For My Routine

I should have done this long ago because I found this one I’m writing about. It’s the shape of any typical exercise Matt except it’s 1” thick. It appears to be made of a type of foam (not bothering to look at the description right now). When I pulled it out I thought I was going to sink in making sit-ups even harder but it’s firm but not hard. I like it better than what is at the gym. Durability will be hard to determine until I’ve had it a while but I’m definitely excited to start back up on my exercises. I recommend this mat if you have hard wood floors, bad back, bad knees, etc. I thought I read some negative reviews about mats this thick because of yoga and balance but I beg to differ. If balancing is part of your exercise routine, then a mat which makes balance harder is exactly what you want. Exercise is supposed to be challenging and you need to work harder to see a difference. If that isn’t your goal or if balance is a medical issue, this may not be the right mat for you. Something you may not think about is I have chronic foot pain and this mat makes it less painful for me to stand or jump. For me, this mat is perfect.
