Het wijnhuis maakt gebruik van traditionele wijnbouwmethoden in combinatie met moderne technologie en expertise om wijnen te produceren die de expressie zijn van de terroir en de druivensoort.

De Riesling druif speelt een belangrijke rol in de productie van de wijnen van Villa Huesgen, en het wijnhuis heeft zich tot doel gesteld om de fruitige en minerale kenmerken van deze druivensoort te benadrukken in hun wijnen. Dit resulteert in elegante, slanke en fruitige wijnen met een typische minerale smaak die zo kenmerkend is voor de wijnen uit de Moezel.

De prachtige wijngaarden van Villa Huesgen

De Riesling druiven staan aangeplant in de Enkircher Steffensberg wijngaard, in de Moezelregio. Deze wijngaard heeft enorme steile hellingen met een koperrode en grijze leisteen bodems. Deze bodemstructuur geeft de uiteindelijke wijn meer kracht en structuur. Wanneer de druiven optimaal rijp zijn worden ze volledig met de hand geoogst en naar de wijnmakerij gebracht. De druiven worden bij aankomst in de wijnmakerij volgens traditionele wijze met de voet geplet. Het verkregen sap wordt vervolgens in contact gehouden met de druivenschillen, om zo meer smaak en aroma’s te onttrekken. Vervolgens wordt het sap heel voorzichtig geperst. Daarna vindt de fermentatie plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks bij een koele temperatuur. Hierna blijft de wijn nog enige tijd in contact met de gistcellen. De Riesling Kabinett Feinherb wordt zo gemaakt dat hij iets zoeter is dan halfdroog.

Hoe smaakt de Villa Huesgen Enkircher Steffensberg Riesling Kabinett Feinherb?

Direct val de aromatische neus op bij deze Riesling wijn. We noteren abrikoos, perzik, citroen en witte lelies. Heerlijke frisse tonen en vooral levendige aroma’s. In de smaak is het een gebalanceerde wijn waarbij er een mooie balans is gevonden tussen zoetheid en de zuurgraad. Een lichte en elegante textuur met fruitige smaken. Deze worden achter op de tong ondersteund door licht kruidige tonen. De wijn heeft een mooie lengte en een zachte afdronk, waardoor het een zeer verfijnde en aangename wijn is om te drinken.

The watch came uncharged. I guess you're supposed to charge the watch by exposing it to sunlight. There was no sunlight and I wasn't about to wait for any. I placed it in front of one of my ultra-bright led flashlights for about 5 hours that night. It's been working fine ever since. I'll expose it to sunlight when I see some. It's a nice looking watch, no bells and whistles but it's been keeping excellent time. I swapped out the band for a NATO which I find more dependable. The price shouldn't put you in the poor house and if it's like all the other Timex watches I've owned, I'll be happy with it.

Keeps lousy time

I purchased this watch off Amazon Warehouse well below MSRP out of curiosity to see what Timex is doing in 2024. The specs are good - bead blasted stainless case, solar movement with quick set date and hacking, sapphire crystal, screwdown crown and 100m water resistance. The movement is Japanese, case and bracelet are made in China, and the watch is assembled somewhere overseas. The good - the watch is lightweight and comfortable on the wrist. Price, even at full MSRP makes this an extremely good value for what you get. It is a good looking Flieger style watch. Once fully charged it is keeping good time. Case finish is well executed and without rough or sharp edges. The bad - the lume is weak. When blasted with UV, it fades quickly and within 5 minutes it’s gone. The bracelet is low end, but expected at this price point. I swapped it out with a nice leather strap from my collection with better quality spring bars and it makes the watch look and feel higher end. The Ugly - the second hand misses nearly all the chapter ring marks. The minute and hour hands are aligned, but that second hand seems to have a mind of its own. On my watch it lines up with chapter ring marks maybe 10% of the time, but it’s not consistent. Sum up, for a sub $200 watch the specs are great and it’s a good looking comfortable watch. Just keep your expectations aligned with what you are paying for. It compares favorably to Orients & Citizens at this price, and offers better value than comparable competitors now that Seiko has gone upmarket. I like this watch. Just don’t compare it to a Swiss watch costing several times its price. Update after a few months: I’m changing my rating to 3 stars. This watch keeps lousy time! It is loosing around 5 minutes per month. And it is fully charged. I have other Solar quartz watches from Citizen, Seiko and Vaer which maintain very good accuracy. But this Timex … defeats the purpose of a solar powered “grab and go” watch when you have to correct the time each occurrence you want to wear it.
