De Musa, beter gekend als de bananenplant, is een zeer gekende kamerplant in vele interieurs, met een grote centrale stam opgebouwd uit een opeenstapeling van bladresten. Deze is zeer herkenbaar door zijn grote bladeren een heeft hierdoor een hoge decoratieve waarde.

De plant is van oorsprong uit Zuidoost Azië en Australië, maar wordt ondertussen op bijna alle tropische plaatsen gekweekt. De bananenplant kan met een juiste verzorging tot wel 2 meter hoog groeien. 

De bananenplant heeft wel wat aandacht en liefde nodig in zijn verzorging. Zo is het val belang dat deze veel licht en water krijgt. Deze kan in de zomer ook op het terras worden geplaatst, zorg er dan wel voor dat dit op een schaduwachtige plek is (veel direct zonlicht te vermijden). De temperatuur waarin de plant wordt geplaatst mag echter niet onder de 12°C dalen.

Verzorging: veel indirect zonlicht - 2 maal per week (beetje) water geven (licht vochtige grond) - sproeien van de bladeren
