GoGo Penguin
GoGo Penguin, het trio uit Manchester dat op inspirerende wijze jazz, klassieke en elektronische invloeden combineert, keert terug met een nieuw album, 'Necessary Fictions', waarop pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka en drummer Jon Scott diep in zichzelf graven om "wat wij op dit moment beschouwen als onze integrale, authentieke kwaliteiten" te bereiken. Het is een krachtige drijfveer voor enkele van hun meest gedurfde muziek tot nu toe, waarbij ze meer dan ooit tevoren modulaire synthesizers, Moog Grandmother en elektrische bas in hun geluid integreren, terwijl ze spectaculair glijden van akoestische instrumentatie naar elektronica met drums op de voorgrond. 'Necessary Fictions' is eerlijk en krachtig. 

Over de designer
De Braziliaanse grafisch ontwerper en art director Estefan Richter bevindt zich al ruim 10 jaar op het snijvlak van ambacht en visuele verkenning. Vanuit zijn huidige basis in Amsterdam onderzoekt hij in zijn onafhankelijke praktijk de relatie tussen omgeving, emotie en tijd. Zijn werk kenmerkt zich door een minimalistische benadering, waarbij hij doelgerichte typografie en eenvoudige vormen inzet als middel om betekenisvolle en complexe begrippen te vertalen.
