Deze kluster heeft een '' pineapple '' groeivorm en wordt gekenmerkt door honderden kleine uiteinden die zich rond de basis en zijkanten van de hoofdkristalaansluiting vormen en die allemaal in dezelfde richting wijzen.

Rookkwarts is een soort kwarts dat zijn zwarte en/of rokerige kleur krijgt door natuurlijke straling. De kleur van rookkwarts is gevoelig voor hitte en zal verbleken bij temperaturen boven de 200-300°C of bij langdurige blootstelling aan UV-licht. Dit kleurverlies kan worden teruggedraaid door gammastraling van de kristallen.

Rookkwarts kan in veel verschillende omgevingen worden aangetroffen, maar is het meest kenmerkend voor holtes in stollingsgesteenten en pegmatieten. De kwartskorrels in graniet en aanverwante rotsen zijn vaak rokerig.

The story was fun to read and well written, but it's still a straightforward Academy romance. I would've liked to see something that made the story really stand out more.
