С 1899 года, когда отмечалось 100-летие непрерывного существования лейб-гвардии кавалергардского полка, началось издание его многотомной истории, а так же "Сборника биографий кавалергардов" в 4-х томах, - уникального исторического документального сборника.
Уникальность сборника состоит прежде всего в том, что биографии и портреты многих представителей известнейших дворянских и аристократических семейств России составлены по документам полкового архива и в дальнейшем не воспроизводились в биографических словарях, энциклопедиях и известны только по этому изданию.
В настоящем томе приведены биографии офицеров, служивших или числившихся в кавалергардском полку в период с 12 марта 1801 года по 1 января 1826 года.

Since 1899, when celebrates 100 years of continuous existence of the Life Guard Cavalry Regiment, began the publication of his multivolume history, as well as the "Compendium of biographies of the Horse Guards" in 4 volumes - a unique collection of historical documentary.
The uniqueness of the collection consists primarily in that the biographies and portraits of many eminent gentry and aristocratic families of Russia made by the regimental archive documents and will not be reproduced in the biographical dictionaries, encyclopedias and known only from this edition.
In this volume are biographies of the officers who served or numbers in Cavalry Regiment during the period from March 12, 1801 on January 1, 1826.
