Hammer coral, scientifically known as Euphyllia ancora, is a captivating and popular large polyp stony coral (LPS) highly sought after by marine aquarium enthusiasts. It is renowned for its distinctive appearance, featuring thick, fleshy polyps with hammer-shaped tips that come in various colors, including shades of green, brown, yellow, and pink. These unique, T-shaped tips give the coral its common name.

Native to the Indo-Pacific region, hammer coral is typically found in shallow reef environments where it thrives under moderate lighting and water flow conditions. In an aquarium setting, it prefers stable water parameters, with an optimal temperature range of 72-78°F, a pH of 8.1-8.4, and a calcium level of 400-450 ppm. This coral's hardy nature makes it a suitable choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists.

Hammer coral's polyps can extend several inches beyond their skeleton, swaying gently in the water and creating a dynamic, visually appealing display. However, these polyps are equipped with stinging cells called nematocysts, which the coral uses for defense and capturing food. Because of its semi-aggressive nature, hammer coral should be given ample space to prevent it from stinging neighboring corals.

Feeding hammer coral is relatively straightforward, as it primarily relies on the symbiotic zooxanthellae algae living within its tissues for nutrition. This relationship provides the coral with energy through photosynthesis. Additionally, it can benefit from occasional feedings of small meaty foods, such as brine shrimp or mysis shrimp, which help promote growth and overall health.

With proper care, hammer coral can be a stunning and resilient addition to a reef aquarium, offering vibrant colors and a unique texture that enhances the underwater landscape. Its ability to sway with the water's movement also adds a sense of liveliness and motion to any marine setup.

Nice shelves. Minor defect in one of mine.

Sturdy and easy to hang. Look nice. One of the set screw holes was off by 1-1/2” so I had to drill a new one, that wasn’t ideal.

Nice looking but bad quality and defects
Color: White, Number Of Shelves: 2, Size: 60 inches, Color: White, Number Of Shelves: 2, Size: 60 inches
Shelves look nice, but not great quality and one of my shelves came crooked (installed it perfectly level). Also has defects around the edges. Already installed so don’t want to rip off wall and return, but would like if they sent a couple new replacements at no charge. Keep you posted if that happens.

This floating shelf looks great and feels very sturdy once installed. It’s stable, fits securely on the wall, and holds plenty of items without issue. I measured beforehand, and it fits perfectly in the space I needed. The hardware was included, and assembly was quick and easy—I had it up in just a couple of minutes. The quality is excellent, and the clean design adds a nice touch to the room. Highly recommend!

It’s meh
Color: Natural Oak, Number Of Shelves: 1, Size: 35.4 inches
Instructions are different than what comes. It’s hard to level and because there isn’t as many mounting points as the instructions it’s more flimsy than you’d think. Still works but can take some finessing to get it to be sturdy enough depending on what you’re planning on putting on it. Looks good and like the pictures though.
