Create Extra-Deep Control Joints with Heavy-Duty Bronze Precision

Meet the demands of specialized concrete specifications with the Kraft Tool CF315PF Canadian Deep Bit Groover. Unlike standard groovers, this professional-grade tool is engineered to cut a massive 1-1/2 inch deep control joint, making it the essential choice for thicker slabs where standard depth tools fall short. Cast from 100% bronze, this single-piece tool offers superior weight and density compared to steel, allowing it to cut through the aggregate with ease while resisting wear over years of extended use. The bit is designed to create a 1/2-inch wide groove with a 1/4-inch radius, ensuring clean edges that resist chipping.

Efficiency on the job site is paramount, and the CF315PF delivers. The specialized deep bit extends out from the base, a design feature that reduces drag and allows the user to move through the concrete with surprisingly little resistance, even in stiffer mixes or pervious concrete. The tool is finished with Kraft’s signature ProForm® soft grip handle in high-visibility orange. This handle features textured ribbing to wick away moisture and provide a secure, non-slip grip, reducing hand fatigue during long finishing passes. Whether you are working on heavy-duty industrial floors or exterior pavement in freeze-thaw climates, this groover ensures your control joints are cut to spec every time.

Key Features

  • Deep Cut Capacity: Cuts a 1-1/2" deep groove, ideal for thicker slabs requiring deeper stress relief.
  • Solid Bronze Construction: 100% bronze casting is heavier and longer-wearing than steel or zinc alternatives.
  • Canadian Style Bit: Features a wide 1/2" bit width for substantial control joint creation.
  • Smooth Finishing: Hand-polished blade and turned-up edges prevent gouging and create a professional finish.
  • Closed End Design: Prevents concrete buildup inside the tool for continuous, hassle-free operation.
  • ProForm® Comfort Grip: Ergonomic soft-grip handle provides excellent traction and reduces fatigue.
  • Edge Protection: Creates a standard 1/4" radius to prevent joint edges from spalling or chipping.
  • Made in the USA: Proudly manufactured in the United States with global materials.

Pro-Tip: The general rule for control joints is that they should be 1/4 of the thickness of the slab. Since this groover cuts 1-1/2 inches deep, it is perfectly suited for 6-inch thick concrete slabs. Using this tool on thinner slabs (like a standard 4-inch sidewalk) may cut too deep and weaken the structural integrity, so always match your tool depth to your slab thickness.

Paramount Information
Format: Paperback
Esoteric book on becoming a section 8 investor. The uncertain times we are living in, the timing is now to rent out to section 8 tennants. McLean and Cipriano have shared mistakes and very helpful advice to be super successful. I was taken back and very grateful how helpful this book is.

Insightful, funny, but a bit unforgiving
This book is an absolutely no holds barred guide for preparing a current/future Section 8 Landlord for difficult situations and tenants. The authors own over 300 rental properties and prefer to remove anything and absolutely everything not strictly required for passing a property inspection. This means ripping out things like screen doors, washing machine hookups, dishwashers, etc. Following their method, you end up with a relatively spartan property that easily passes inspection. They're a bit light on the empathy side, but overall, this is still excellent business advice. The writer is also really funny and some of the anecdotal stories are great. Definitely worth the money! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the Diversified Real Estate Investor Group papers (written by James M. Bennett) in Chapter 18 are incredibly difficult to read on a kindle (see the picture). Otherwise, this is a 5 star book full of excellent advice.

Nuts and Bolts of Section 8 for Landlords
Format: Paperback
Learned so much from this book. Lots of practical information and entertaining to read. I bought all of the books by this team of do-it- your-selfers. They even include access to a rental contract they advertise as ironclad.

Great, Practical, Real
Format: Paperback
Finally a real estate book that has real, practical tips and methods to go out and get deals done. I almost didn’t read this as in the last few months I have poured through dozens of books and got sick of the “have a solid goal and motivate yourself” or the “this is why real estate is a great investment” that plagues 99% of books in this area while providing no real context. This book should have been my first go-to book. It’s real, authentic, full of real world advice and tips. Read it and you finally get an idea of how to do it from the guys who actually do it. This isn’t a “feel good” book written by an author or journalist. It’s a practical, raw, real-world guide to Section 8 real estate from the guys who have hundreds of units. A must read
