There are a few things that affect FPS when it comes to Gas rifles.

The type of gas used. Different types of gas have different expansion rates. Airsoft rifles are typically designed to use a specific type of gas. Using a different type of gas can affect the FPS.

The length of the barrel. The longer the barrel, the more time the gas has to expand.

The weight of the projectile. A heavier projectile will have more inertia and will be more difficult to accelerate. This can decrease the FPS but intern, increase the energy (Joules)... Joule creep however is a subject for another day, I'd need a bigger cup of tea!
Because of this we have designed a valve that allows you to use longer and tighter barrels (such as the very popular laylax 6.03) and higher power gasses like green gas and propane.
So what does all this gobbledygook mean... If you want to be a chad and use spicy gas or operate on them 30c days, you need this valve!
