Description

The Serpent and the Serpent SlayerI will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. Genesis 3: 15. Weve all heard this story: the hero fights a dragon in an epic battle, and just as it appears the dragon is going to prevail, the hero saves the day. Best selling novels and blockbuster movies are filled with this type of story, but did you know that this is the main theme of the Bible too?

“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:15. We’ve all heard this story: the hero fights a dragon in an epic battle, and just as it appears the dragon is going to prevail, the hero saves the day. Best-selling novels and blockbuster movies are filled with this type of story, but did you know that this is the main theme of the Bible too? Tracing the theme of serpents and dragons through both Testaments, trusted scholar Andrew David Naselli demonstrates that these stories reflect our desire to know the ultimate story—the struggle between God’s offspring and the offspring of the serpent. As we come to experience this captivating, unifying narrative, we will rejoice in the ultimate victory of Jesus—the serpent slayer—over the devouring dragon in Revelation.

______________

“The Bible’s narrative is essentially an unfolding of the conflict promise embedded in Genesis 3:15. Everything between the covers of Scripture is contextualized by the ways the serpent seeks to destroy the seed of the woman. But the end of the story is promised from the beginning: although the serpent grows large into a fierce dragon, its head is finally crushed by a Lion who, even before creation, was destined to become a slain Lamb. This conflict is not Scripture’s only unifying theme, but it is a fundamental one, and Andy Naselli highlights it wonderfully. He provides us with a key that will open the door to a new appreciation of the sheer thrilling nature of what God has done for us in Christ. Prepare, then, to be thrilled by The Serpent and the Serpent Slayer!” Sinclair B. Ferguson, Chancellor’s Professor of Systematic Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary; Teaching Fellow, Ligonier Ministries

98% cotton comfort
Color: Black, Size: Large
It's true to size. I have a 42" chest and typically wear a large. I ordered large and it fits. Grab these while you can as most of these mock neck t shirts are a cotton poly blend. These are 98% cotton. This is important because although the cotton/poly blends dry quicker, they are uncomfortably warm if it gets above 70 F. I have purchased other mock turtlenecks and had my local dry cleaners convert them from long sleeves to short, but they are slightly heavier weight than these. I do wish that they made these in a dark green or military green color.

100% SYNTHETIC CONSTRUCTION!!!
Color: All White, Size: XX-Large, Color: All White, Size: XX-Large
When I bought this shirt, the listing claimed it was 95% cotton and 5% spandex... the shirt that arrived was 51% polyester, 43% viscose and 6% spandex! I have been impressed by some of their other clothing, but this is the first time I was completely lied to and bamboozled. I probably wouldn't have noticed if the shirt wasn't so hot, shiny, and uncomfortable! I will absolutely be returning this shirt. Not even CLOSE to what I wanted. Quite, quite disappointed.
