Alternanthera, commonly known as joyweed or Joseph’s Coat, is a member of the Amaranthaceae family. It has shiny greenish-purple segregated leaves with small white flowers that bloom from late fall to winter. It tends to form spreading foliage mounds, and loves organically rich, consistently moist, well-drained soils.
