Brackenwood Nebbiolo 2022Planted on a slope of Ironstone and quartz soils the Nebbiolo is cane pruned and is the last variety we harvest. One third whole bunch fermented the wine spends two years on French oak before being bottled. The final wine has lifted notes of tea leaf and tobacco with dark cherry and dried rose petals. The palate has wild strawberries, cherry with lingering ironstone minerals acidity. This wine is transparent but don't be deceived it has great depth.

Brackenwood is a small, biodynamically farmed vineyard in the cool-climate Adelaide Hills, where every wine is made from estate-grown fruit and produced on-site in tiny batches. The focus is firmly on soil health and vineyard expression, with biodynamic practices, composts, natural fertilisers and sheep used to build fertility and vineyard resilience. In the winery, the approach is one of minimal intervention: fruit is harvested to preserve natural acidity, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and made without additions of acid, tannin or animal products. The result is a range of vibrant, characterful wines that reflect their site, season and terroir with purity and authenticity.
