GAP offers the BD-Power 1036771 E-PAS Positive Air Shutdown that will stop the engine from over-revving in your 2008-2023 Detroit Diesel DD13/DD15/DD16. Though rare, diesel engine runaway is caused when external hydrocarbons are drawn into the engine and can cause overspeeding, leading to catastrophic engine failure. Life, limb, and your truck can be put in jeopardy. The Electronic Positive Air Shutdown (E-PAS) units will cut the intake air supply to the cylinders and safely shut down the engine. The E-PAS controls the electronic throttle body in the intake manifold found on diesel engines by closing it to shut off the supply of air in emergency situations. The E-PAS can be easily installed with factory plug-in connectors and pre-made wiring harnesses. This unit will automatically reset itself after shutdown and can be easily removed for truck lease returns.
