This particular Kars rug, in varying shades of brown, green and beige, features a 20th Century incorporation / interpretation of strong traditional village design motifs and skilled weaving techniques. Another significant attribute of this rug is the subtle "abrash" (natural shading/fading) of the original colors which is only possible with high quality, naturally dyed yarn as the natural dyes soften and mellow with time and use.
