Before I go any further with the description I need to reveal a small secret about this piece. Gold and silver treasures on this tsuba are not inlaid and most probably not part of the original design. It looks like they are attached with something like Engraver’s Pitch. This material is easy to remove, but does not provide a strong fix. Just a bit of temperature makes it soft to the point that those treasures can be easily moved or removed. It seems that they are covering cavities designed for the inlay. Saying all that this tsuba comes with NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon so is "especially worth preserving" and was published in Kazutaro Terigoye "Tsuba Kanshoki".

Decorated with clouds and treasures. As mentioned before treasures are probably not part of the original design.

Made of iron with polished ground.

We will never know what was the original design of this tsuba, however It remains an amazing item showcasing the best qualities of the Ichijo School. Carving of clouds on this tsuba is stunning!

Size: 76 mm x 70 mm x 3 mm

In custom made kiri box.

With NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon tosogu.

An Interesting New Work
Format: Paperback
I liked this work a great deal. It offered a great deal of intense story-driven moments and some great action scenes, and the art was pretty good (I won't say it was incredible, but it was very good). The story is intriguing, and after this first volume, a short arc has been fulfilled while leaving a lot of big questions unanswered in a fulfilling but still tantalizing way. I am perfectly satisfied with the serving size here and with the size of the book, and am happy to have added this to my shelf. Glad to have taken a chance on something new.

Mysterious masterpiece
Format: Paperback
Really compelling story. The USA seals itself off from the rest of the world. A group of people who are trying to stop a disease killing people on the outside are invited in to the former US to receive a cure… or were they? Great read. Snyder and Soule have created a mysterious masterpiece!!

I'm so confused, and I LOVE IT!
Format: Kindle
Like many previous reviewers have stated, I have no idea what is going on yet, but I'm itching to find out. So far, this series is amazing. Hopefully it continues down that path in Vol. 2.
