RunCam Phoenix 2 SPV5

Look, we know you’ve crashed enough drones to know that "cheap" cameras usually look like you’re flying through a jar of lukewarm mayonnaise. Enter the RunCam Phoenix 2 SPV5. It’s got the specs to make your analog feed actually look like the world and not a low-res fever dream. If you can’t see that branch now, it’s not the camera’s fault—it’s yours.

Why You Want It

The original Phoenix 2 was already the darling of the analog world, and the SPV5 keeps that fire burning without melting your wallet. With a 1/3" BSI CMOS sensor, it handles light changes better than your mood after a failsafe. It’s got Global WDR, which is fancy talk for "you won't be blinded by the sun while trying to dodge a literal brick wall." If you are still flying CMOS sensors from five years ago, you're basically flying through a keyhole. Stop doing that.

Specs

  • Sensor: 1/3" BSI CMOS (Actually catches photons occasionally)
  • Horizontal Resolution: 1200TVL (More lines than your last tax return)
  • Lens FOV (4:3): D:155° H:123° V:96° (Wide enough to see your mistakes coming)
  • Lens FOV (16:9): D:140° H:123° V:74° (For those who like their world cinematic and stretched)
  • Screen Format: 4:3 / 16:9 Switchable (Identity crisis? We’ve got you)
  • Signal System: NTSC/PAL (Because regional standards are still a thing in the UK)
  • Sensitivity: 13000 mV/lux·s (Sees in the dark better than your average owl)
  • WDR: Global WDR (Say goodbye to blacked-out shadows)
  • Power: DC 5-36V (Plumb it into almost anything without a fireworks display)
  • Current: 95mA@5V / 45mA@12V (Doesn't drink your battery like a thirsty lipo)
  • Housing Material: ABS (Lightweight and surprisingly resilient)
  • Weight: 7.5g (Lighter than your sense of regret)
  • Dimensions: 19mm*19mm*19mm (The standard "Micro" size with M2 screws)

In the Box

  • 1x RunCam Phoenix 2 SPV5 Camera
  • 1x 6pin FPV Silicone Cable (The one you'll probably lose in your toolbox)
  • 1x Set of M2 Screws

Compatibility

Fits any frame with a 19mm micro mount. Works with any analog VTX unless you're trying to use a toaster from 1994. Perfect for 5-inch racers or cheeky little cinewhoops.

Highlights

  • Global WDR: Makes sure the sky isn't a white void and the ground isn't a black hole.
  • Natural Color: RunCam’s secret sauce that makes grass look like grass and not neon toxic waste.
  • Low Light Performance: The f/2.0 large aperture lens means you don't have to pack up just because the sun went behind a cloud.

Notes

This is a rolling shutter camera. If you're seeing jello, fix your tune or stop using bent props. Also, it uses M2 screws—don't force an M3 in there unless you want a very expensive paperweight. We've seen people try. It doesn't end well.

Misleading: Pillow Itself Has Only TWO Configurations!! >:(
Color: Black, Size: Adjustable 9&12 Inch + 1 Head Pillow
I was sold on the 10-Option bit until I realized there are only 2 choices as far as flooping and flopping the pillow itself. It is 2 triangles, a large one and a small one. The large triangle IS THE SAME ANGLE ON EACH END. The small triangle IS ATTACHED TO THE CENTER OF THE LARGE TRIANGLE. That means no matter how you move the pillow itself, you're getting the EXACT SAME THING. Where YOU come in is where all these infinity "versatility" options are - whether you put it upright or whether you put it flat. That's it. All this I can read in bed! I can play on my laptop! I can watch TV! Yeah that's upright. Option 1. And all this I can put it under my legs! I can use it as a normal pillow as well! That's flat. Option 2. There is absolutely nothing special or different about this thing except the stupid pocket. Had they not made the triangle the same angles on the end, had they made a steep angle and a low angle and that center pillow detachable but still velcro - THEN there would have been more elevation options. But this, I was highly disappointed. It's like saying, My bed has 360 options! (because I can lay 360 different degrees around the bed) AND 360 MORE BECAUSE GUESS WHAT! I CAN LAY ON MY STOMACH 360 DIFFERENT DEGREES around the bed! Oh! And on my side 360 degree different ways! Wait I have a left and a right side - the OTHER side I can lay on it around the bed 360 different degrees as well! And sitting cross-legged on the bed 360 different degree directions as well! So. No. It's a firm memory foam pillow. You lay upright or lay down or you put it under your legs or on your lap. It changes 2 ways and you make it work 4 ways. That's it. Yes it smells but not too bad, not foul, just persistently. Like a light chemical smell but it didn't aggravate me (I get scent, etc. migraines). It self-inflated pretty fast. But as you can tell, I was not impressed with it in reality. :(

Helps my coughing
4.8 stars. This helps keep me sleeping at a good angle to prevent night coughing. Also, it's great for relaxing and watching tv in bed. I find that it is Goldilocks level firm - just enough to be supportive but soft enough for comfort. I wish I'd gotten the roll pillow now :-( It's hard to make my bed look "made" with this on it - no matter what color I get. I keep it on the side & out if sight til I need it. I do like the material & thankfully it's removable for cleaning, but I can tell it's going to wear with a lot, so I do wish it were easier to find more covers for it so I could have one on while washing one. Overall, I like this a lot. The only thing negative is that I can see that it will "pill" & fuzz up in places with more use. I do use this every night. One warning: As with any products like this that are suctioned close for packaging - be VERY careful. I always hold one corner of the plastic to open a little vent before I cut more to remove the pillow and let it "fluff". It would be easy to snip some of the fabric...

Helped my husband get a good night's rest after surgery.
Color: Dark Grey & White, Size: Adjustable 9&12 Inch + 1 Head Pillow
We bought this after my husband's heart surgery, and the doctors wanted him to sleep in an elevated position for a few weeks. Before this, he was just stacking some pillows behind his neck, which did not get him a comfortable night's rest. His first night using this was a game changer for him. It was the first time he was able to sleep through the night. It was just the right height, and just the right level of soft/firm. Once he's done with it, I think I'll steal it from him and use it for reading in bed. The little neck rest was super helpful too. Thanks to whoever invented this, and sells it at such a reasonable price.

Improved Sleep
Color: Dark Grey & White, Size: Adjustable 9&12 Inch + 1 Head Pillow
I got this to help with my sleep since I can't lay flat. It works great. My back started hurting because of the angle but that's because I can't sleep on my back and slide down on my side. It's very comfy and works well for what I need it to do.

Very Comfortable
Great! I was a little concerned when it came so tightly shrink wrapped, but a day or two later and it’s in great shape. It’s actually pretty comfortable, good angle. It’s a good width and pretty long to accommodate all body types. I like it can be two heights. My adult kids said it felt like memory foam. I can add my own pillow too to further adjust to my liking. I occasionally get bad heartburn or sick where I need to sleep sitting up. This helps me do that in bed. I tried using it every night at first because I usually sleep with two large stacked pillows, but I’m a side sleeper and it eventually hurt my neck. So, not great if you sleep on your side. I also just lay a pillow case across it to keep clean. You can unzip and take off the cover for cleaning, but I almost never get stuff like that back on right. I got the dark gray cover and I like the soft feel. I’m glad I got it.
