These stretch bracelets in the “Note To Self” Collection are made from premium quality Japanese glass Miyuki® tila beads. They are meticulously assembled with a Morse code pattern that speaks an inspirational message. Then they are displayed on packaging that helps tell the perfect story!
 
About Tila Beads
They are manufactured with glass that is melted in a 1400 degree furnace and then formed into a tubular mold through blowing and stretching. Then, a special cutting machine is used to perfectly cut each bead to the desired size. A second forming process, after cutting, creates the final shape before they are cleaned and then finished with dyeing, printing, or electroplating, etc. This technically difficult process creates premium quality beads with brilliant appeal.

I had to purchase this for my Advanced Pathophysiology class in my Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. It is very easy to understand and have pretty good case studies. I like that the CD that accompanies the book goes into some detail in explaining the cases further and the disease processes without giving you the answers to the questions. It stimulates one to think!! Once this class is over I will go back from time to time to review!!

This is a nice compliment to other classroom instruction materials. I am teaching an advanced pathophysiology course in a nurse practitioner program. This book is very helpful for students to put together the concepts of patho with the clinical setting. Will use these for in-class group assignments. Case-studies are thorough and offer a variety of different disease processes to choose from. It certainly does not offer a case study for every possible disease or clinical scenario, but does cover most major areas and enough variety in my opinion. Should be helpful in reinforcing the clinical significance of some difficult to understand concepts. I would recommend this text to course instructors.

No Answers Provided to Case Studies
Format: Paperback
The cases are helpful; however, realize that there are NO answers whatsoever to the questions presented in the cases--not a huge problem I suppose, b/c you can google everything, but certainly an annoyance. (esp. when there are multiple possible answers. The author states in the foreword that some of the cases are real; in which case, why not provide the justification presented in the patient's chart as to why that patient takes a particular drug, esp. considering that you may take a drug for its side effects rather than its therapeutic effect. . .anyhow. . ) I think if the author provided at least SOME insight/guidance to the cases that it would be much more helpful, but until then, I'm skeptical as to why others gave this book 5 stars.
