Green Damsel – Neopomacentrus nemurus

Overview:
The Green Damsel is a hardy and active marine fish with a vivid green body that shimmers in reef lighting, adding lively color to aquariums. Compact and resilient, it is an excellent choice for beginner and experienced hobbyists alike.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, particularly coastal reefs and lagoons with ample coral and rocky cover.

Feeding:
Omnivorous – readily accepts flakes, pellets, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. A varied diet enhances coloration and vitality.

Tank Mates:
Best housed with semi-aggressive or similarly sized fish. Reef-safe with corals and invertebrates, but may defend its territory in smaller tanks.

Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – may show territorial behavior, particularly in confined spaces, but generally manageable in larger aquariums.

Experience Level:
Beginner-friendly, thanks to its durability and adaptability, though territorial tendencies should be considered when selecting tank mates.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)
  • pH: 8.1–8.4
  • Salinity: 1.020–1.025
  • Minimum Tank Size: 30+ gallons

The Green Damsel is a vibrant, hardy, and energetic reef fish, perfect for adding color, movement, and personality to a marine aquarium.
