Our five frame nucleus colonies (or nucs) come with 5 deep frames of comb with various amounts of honey, pollen and brood of all stages (egg, larval and pupa), 3+ pounds of live bees and a laying queen. Our queens have been established and laying in the colony for several weeks. We make our nucs from our own bees and start them

The perfect way to start beekeeping! Our five frame nucleus colonies (or nucs) come with 5 deep frames of comb with various amounts of honey, pollen and brood of all stages (egg, larval and pupa), 3+ pounds of live bees and a laying queen. Our queens have been established and laying in the colony for several weeks. We make our nucs from our own bees and start them out with a queen cell. That queen than hatches and flies out to mate with drones in our bee yards. We start with Italian queen cells, but what they mate with is out of our control so we lovingly call them "Montana Mutts". We have been successfully selling nucs to customers for 9 years with great feedback on temperament, honey production and winter survival rates.

Pick up day will be Saturday, May 9th in the morning.*
We encourage everyone to make the scheduled pick up day. We all work full time plus chase around 2 kiddos during baseball season. It makes it difficult to also schedule alternate pick up dates.
We will send out reminder emails in the beginning on April. You will be asked to confirm your order and confirm that you can make the pick up date. Again, we ask that you try your hardest to make the scheduled pick up day.
If you are unable to make the designated pick up day, we will work with you to find an alternative day where most people can make it, there will however be a $10 convenience fee due at time of pick up.
