What is MK-777?
MK-777 is a potent, orally active ghrelin receptor (GHSR) agonist. As a next-generation growth hormone secretagogue, it stimulates the release of endogenous growth hormone (GH) and IGF-1. MK-777 is chemically related to MK-677, but is specifically developed for improved tissue selectivity and better pharmacokinetics.

Scientific background (mouse studies)
Preclinical mouse studies show that MK-777 produces significant neurological and hormonal effects at lower doses, for example 3 mg per kg. By comparison, MK-677 typically requires 4 mg per kg or more in similar rat and mouse studies to achieve comparable GH peaks. Research indicates that MK-777:

• Provides more stable blood levels without sharp peaks and drops seen with older compounds

Mechanism and neuroprotection
