Праця видатного митця та громадського діяча М. М. Аркаса є великою історіографічною пам’яткою початку ХХ століття. Задумана у 1901 році як нарис для навчання онука Миколи, вона перетворилася на широку і глибоку розвідку з української історії. Мета Аркаса при створенні цієї книги – викласти історію України у найдоступнішій формі, зрозумілій навіть непідготовленому читачеві.
Редактором книги став письменник, історик і філолог Василь Доманицький, автор першого повного видання 'Кобзаря'. Простота і доступність викладення принесли книзі надзвичайної популярності. Перший наклад (7000 примірників), виданий у 1908 році, розійшовся протягом одного місяця.Світогляд автора, його сприйняття та розуміння історії повністю виключали як проросійську, так і націоналістичну крайнощі. Історія Аркаса має проукраїнську спрямованість. Книгу написано з позиції народницького напряму який виходить з того, що творцем історії є народ, а не держава.Ось що написав бібліотекар одеської “Просвіти” А. В. Ніковський про тільки-но видану “Історію України-Русі”: “Коли я передивився книгу, то побачив, що автором зроблено все, щоб зміст книги легко й хутко і надовго западав у голову читачеві — це й ілюстрації і, особливо, помітки на полях, котрі мають уявляти з себе конспект”.Таким побитом, додавши те, що написано популярно і пристосовано до середнього читача, можна гадати, що 'Історія' буде корисною для гімназій, для учителів народних шкіл, а поки що для кожного українця. Бо ж зараз ми такої історії не маємо.“Візьміть Грушевського — велику в п’яти томах — до неї бояться підходити. “Очерк истории украинского народа” мов зіграти деяку роль, коли ж написане важко і це одбирає охоту до читання. Great ankle socks that stay put at a great price!!

These are great! I have been looking for a low profile ankle sock that is thinner but doesn’t ride down. (Picky, right?) I try to walk 5-7 miles on my days off. So it’s very important for me to not have to stop every couple of hundred yards, bend down, fix socks, then continue on my way while grumbling about NOT GREAT socks. These are not those socks. They really do stay put!!! And enough cushion to be comfortable also. So definitely a repeat!!

Great quality, no holes or fading!

I purchased these socks a couple years ago and love them so much that I just recently purchased them again! They fit perfectly, don't make my feet sweaty, and hit the ankle at the right spot. The material is so good that over years they have not faded and even though I wear the same few pairs every day, they have no signs of thinning or holes! These are the ONLY socks that I buy. I have the black ones as well as the multi-colored ones. I will never buy another brand or style again!

There's no show under armour socks.Are perfect for anybody who likes thinner socks. I loved them, I love the design the colors and the comfort and fit. Hylie recommend to those of you who like thinner socks.

Well made and perform well, a little constricting
Size: Medium, Color: Black Assortment (6-pairs)
These socks definitely keep most of the moisture away from my feet, even in wet conditions, which is why I bought them. I am diabetic, though, and the recommendation is to wear socks that don't constrict at any point. These have a tight band around the opening that while it is not uncomfortable on, leaves a mark when I take them off. So far it's been ok, but if you have any kind of swelling in your feet or ankles these would probably not be the best. My foot measures size 8 and I wear size 9 Brooks running shoes. The socks fit me just right but based on the size of the opening and the overall length, I wouldn't think they would fit anyone more than a size larger. Overall well made and perform well as you would expect from this brand.
