Bowmore | First Fill Tawny Port Barrique | 2025 | 130 OLA | 63.5% ABV

Founded in 1779 in the heart of Bowmore village on Islay, Bowmore is one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries, renowned for a poised balance of peat smoke and orchard–tropical fruit. Think: kiln smoke, sea breeze, lemon oil, ripe mango, honeyed malt, and a gentle floral lift—an unmistakably “Islay, but elegant” profile that ages beautifully.

Under Beam Suntory, Bowmore’s official bottlings (12, 15, 18, 25, Vault Editions and prestige releases) carry strong global recognition—exactly the kind of brand equity that supports premium positioning at bottling. Casks leaving the distillery are exceptionally rare, with most stock reserved for in-house releases.

We have an exclusive filling of this nameable Bowmore, an opportunity almost never available on the private market. For a private collector planning a bottling project, it’s a singular chance to secure scarce Islay stock with clear flavour direction from refill bourbon, and the option to elevate further through a targeted sherry or quality wine finish for added colour, richness, and shelf appeal.

Please Note: All our casks are sold under-bond and sold ex-works, ex-VAT and ex-Duty. All sales are subject to our Terms & Conditions. Casks are sold under-bond and should not be resold on any public/digital platform unless otherwise stated in writing in agreement with DamGoodCompany Ltd Terms and Conditions of Sale. Customers are liable to pay for cask transport, transfers, storage, insurance and all other cask services.

DamGoodCompany Ltd make no representations or warranties as to the value of the product at the end of the maturation period. While current market conditions show strong growth in the whisky market, there is no guarantee this trend will continue. The value of the product may go up as well as down.

democracy in action or am I allowed to vote
Format: Paperback
This is a superb document on the history of voting rights in America from its founding to 2000. Well worth reading about the struggles of Americans to get the vote. The discussion of suffrage for all Americans. How those that had the vote trying to prevent other people from getting the vote. We struggle with this today, given that President Drumpf is more than willing to disregard the majority of American voters. Our democracy beware and here is the history.

Incredibly well researched
Format: Paperback
Purchased in light of the current election fraud/security debates. I learned nothing so far is new. Data intensive. Can be dry at times, though many of the quotes from historical figures are revealing as to prevailing attitudes.

Excellent and thorough
This must be the definitive history of voting in America. I hold back from giving it five stars because it was a little more than what I was looking for, but this is as thorough as I have ever come across. Also, I love charts and graphs, and he has a great array of tables at the end. Interesting tidbit was the role war played throughout American history in expanding the right to vote. Also, though we all know how the right to vote gradually expanded, but what many of us didn't realize was how the right to vote actually shrunk at various points in American history. That is, some people who had the right to vote had it taken away at various moments in American history. When all is said and done, this is a great book.
