A Carol for Another Christmas is a 1964 American television film, scripted by Rod Serling (Twilight Zone) as a modernization of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and a plea for global cooperation. It was the first in a planned series of television specials developed to promote the United Nations and educate viewers about its mission.
The cast also included: Britt Ekland, Peter Sellers, Ben Gazzara, Eva Marie Saint, Percy Rodriguez, Barbara Ann Teer and James Shigeta.
NOTES: The film was the only television program by award-winning director Joseph L. Mankiewicz (Cleopatra), and contained Peter Sellers' first performance after recovering from a near-fatal heart attack earlier in 1964. Music written and composed by Henry Mancini. Following its initial ABC broadcast, A Carol for Another Christmas was not rebroadcast for nearly five decades. After 48 years, A Carol for Another Christmas was finally rebroadcast when Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in 2012.
