Antique stove from France made of cast iron and polychrome tole. This Art Nouveau period piece is singed by C. Molle in Terrenoire, in the Loire region of France. It is set on four stylized cast iron claw feet. The stove could either be fired with charcoal or wood, with four burners on top with concentric registers that provide different levels of heat. On the left side is a deep boiler with a lid and a porcelain handle. The two direct ovens are separated by a vent trap. The bottom right door opens up to a burnt combustible tray, the right above is a vent access to the hearth compartment. Each door on the facade features hand painted enameled ceramic framed in steel, the same hand painted snowscapes are found also on the tole side panels. The appliance is in working condition. French-made and of the highest quality, these compact stoves are highly decorative and very rare to find in the United States. The C. Molle label is located on the front right side of the piece.
