A woman with a strong temper and passionate about her profession, April Harriet O`Neil is always willing to face any mission, even if she must go against her boss Burne Thompson on the TV network of Channel 6 News, or upset director and camera operator Vernon Fenwick, her rival, she spares no effort to fulfill her objectives. While investigating a series of technological equipment thefts, April was attacked by a street gang. Even trying to run away, she found herself cornered in a dead-end alley. After being saved from the criminals by the four Ninja Turtle brothers, she was taken to their hideout in the city sewers, where the heroes and their sensei master told her about their origins. Creating a strong bond of friendship and trust with them, April soon became the main link of the Turtle brothers with the external world, and always when needed, wearing a two-way audio and video communication system device called Turtlecom to contact them. Thanks to her partnership with the Turtles, April started a romantic relationship with the vigilante Casey Jones, an ally of the ninja turtle brothers.
