To mark 50 years of handcrafting high-performance fly rods, Scott chose one rod from each decade of its history, models that exemplify Scott innovation and, in some way, changed the way we fish. The modern-era choice was clear: the Radian R905/4, a 9'0" 5-weight 4-piece rod, and the most coveted Scott rod model of its generation.
When the Radian first arrived, it fundamentally changed the angling experience. Through material and design innovations, Radian rods solved a long-standing dilemma — bringing fast action together with genuine feel, two qualities that rarely lived in the same blank. They also introduced a new approach to components that set fresh standards and made the rods even more endeared to the anglers who fished them. Sworn by many to be the finest fast rod of all time, the R905/4 is a "never part with" rod.
Rather than simply replicating the original, Scott took a resto-mod approach.
