This image is based on a meditation experience I had when moving to Santa Fe from Santa Barbara in 1986. Before I left California, I was taught by Deepak Chopra in Pacific Palisades what Maharishi Mahesh Yogi called the bliss technique. The building was cold and damp, so I couldn't imagine how I would settle down and have a good experience. To my surprise I was up in and in union with the timeless unbounded sky, surrounded by silent stars, and yet still sitting in the chair with my feet firmly on the ground. Two days later I arrived in Santa Fe's southwest landscape of expansive horizons, mountains, and huge sky. This was the first pastel painting in what became a series. I'm happy to offer it as a fine art print.
