In the witty and offbeat comedy Stacked, Anderson stars as Skyler Dayton, a drop-dead gorgeous former party girl who’s ready to turn over a new leaf after a string of bad relationships and bad decisions.
While seeking a self-improvement book, she wanders into The Stacks, a small, family-run bookstore, and unexpectedly lands a job.
The shop is owned by Gavin Miller (Elon Gold), a neurotic, over-analytical failed novelist and newly divorced father, who initially sees Skyler as everything he despises about shallow pop culture. His laid-back, comic book-loving brother Stuart (Brian Scolaro), however, is more than happy to welcome Skyler—much to Gavin’s dismay. Rounding out the quirky staff is Katrina (Marissa Jaret Winokur), the opinionated and skeptical store clerk, who isn’t thrilled about sharing the counter with a stunning former socialite. Adding to the mix is the store’s most loyal customer, Harold March (Christopher Lloyd), a brilliant but eccentric retired rocket scientist.
Despite its short-lived run on Fox, Stacked delivers plenty of laughs with its fresh, bookstore-set premise, sharp humor, and a cast full of comedic chemistry. This DVD collection includes all 14 aired episodes, plus five never-before-seen episodes, along with hilarious guest appearances from Carmen Electra and Jenny McCarthy.
