The Samson Long Cast Expanse Travel lure rod is the ideal companion for your overseas adventures. Whether casting from the rocks into deep water or out in the surf, this rod gives you the ability to get your lure to the fish. The 12ft blank is ideal for controlling your lure around rocks and features, and with a casting range of 15 to 60g is capable of targeting anything from bass to bluefish and many other species. The length and feedback of the blank means that the Expanse can also be used for bait fishing, saving you the inconvenience and cost of transporting an additional rod.

This travel version of the regular Expanse is also built on a 30T Toray Japanese carbon fibre blank. This fast-actioned, medium-stiff tipped rod performs like a two-piece, providing excellent long range casting, both surface and sub-surface lure feedback, and fish-fighting abilities. 

With a deadlift capability of 3kg you can lift smaller fish from the water to help you safely land them from the rocks in difficult or challenging conditions.

The convenient six-piece travel format allows the rod to break down into 67cm sections and is complemented by the included semi-hard zipped protective case, complete with an adjustable carry strap, perfect for hiking or travelling to that remote mark. If you usually struggle transporting rods on your adventures due to space limitations, the overall case length of 74cm makes it possible to fit into a large suitcase, removing the need for an additional checked rod tube at the airport.

The Expanse Travel is fitted with quality braid-safe Fuji O ring guides for reliability and long casts, and the 70cm EVA handle provides the leverage and comfort you need for a day’s monster hunting.

Paired with a 3500 to 4500 size reel and 15 to 30lb braid, the Expanse will subdue hard-fighting tropical species.
