Crafted from selected boxwood, this set of chess pieces offers impressive quality for the modest price tag and unlike most sets in this price bracket, this set comes with 2 additional queens for promotion.

Each piece is constructed from one section of wood, subsequently making them robust. This process ensures that every chess piece in this set will last for generations rather than just a few years.

Despite their moderate price, all of the Down Head Knight range is crafted and finished to an excellent standard. Each piece has been hand-polished to a medium-gloss finish, creating an excellent but not overstated shine. The black pieces are ebonised: a process that creates the look of real ebony and further strengthens and preserves the wood.

These chessmen will sit perfectly on our 50cm chessboards, and are also available in smaller sizes of 8.3cm, 7.6cm, and 6.3cm.
