Клим Поліщук (1891 – 1937) – письменник непересічного таланту з покоління Розстріляного відродження. Радянський режим назавжди забрав у нього життя і на десятиліття – ім’я та все з ним пов’язане.  Нині творча спадщина  Клима Поліщука повертається до читачів. Тож вони мають змогу пересвідчитися у справедливості слів дослідників, які назвали його прозу високою, а ще – дізнатися  про часи визвольних змагань 1917-1921 років від очевидця тих подій: із записником у руках письменник побував  чи не в усіх куточках української землі. На власні очі бачив автор  і головного героя свого роману 'Гуляйпільський батько' – Нестора Махна. Та й загалом тоді для змалювання образу ватажка-анархіста не бракувало переказів і бувальщин. У них він був народним заступником, а не хижим звіром, як наказувала змальовувати його нова влада. Письменник показує Махна яскравою особистістю, не відступаючись від правди про ті страшні часи, коли кров лилася рікою.
