While regular PLA melts correctly and displays a glossy finish at lower extrusion speeds, it experiences a 'cold-core' effect at high speeds and displays a matte finish along with reduced mechanical properties. Since extrusion rate is never constant and varies as a 3D printer accelerates and decelerates, high-speed prints using regular PLA exhibit an inconsistent surface finish, alternating between glossy and matte. PolySonic™ PLA is an excellent choice for users who require both high speed and consistent surface finish.

[1] Volumetric flow rate of 24mm³/s is equivalent to 300mm/s at 0.2mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle.
[2] Maximum flow rate can depend on the extrusion temperature. Polymakers maximum flow rate for PolySonic™ PLA at 230˚C is 29mm³/s. Measurement of maximum flow is when extrusion decreases below 95% of the requested flow. Tested at 230˚C on a customized extrusion platform equipped with an E3D volcano hotend, 0.4mm nozzle with Hemera XS extruder. For a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height, 29mm³/s would be achieved with a 363mm/s printing speed. For a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.1mm layer height, 29mm³/s would be achieved with a 725mm/s printing speed.
[3] To achieve quality results, high-speed printing relies on both material and the 3D printer. Beyond material choice, quality and accuracy of a high speed print is also reliant on a high speed printer with well-tuned input shaping and pressure / linear advance.

Compatibility 

PolySonic™ PLA has been engineered for popular high-speed 3D printers and is capable of both high and classic 3D printing speeds.. High rigidity materials like PolySonic™ PLA work best in set ups where the filament guide system is smooth and as no harsh bends.

Please note that Polymakers Jam-Free™ technology is not implemented into PolySonic™ PLA. Jam-Free™ is a technology by Polymaker to improve compatibility with all metal hot end designs that suffer from heat creep. In this case, the exclusion of Jam-Free™ helps to ensure maximum melt-performance of the material. Many new high-speed printers have greatly improved hot-end designs so the risk of purchasing a high-speed machine that suffers from heat creep is much lower these days. If you own a regular printer that suffers from heat creep and has difficulty printing other brands of PLA due to jamming, we recommend using a different Polymaker PLA such as PolyLite™ PLA on that machine. This material is best suited for high-speed capable printers that don't suffer from heat creep.

Of course with thousands of unique 3d printer models on the market, we can't guarantee each filament type will work with every 3D printer.

Don't waste your money - these people will not help you
On March 9th 2024, I purchased a MCombo Lift Chair costing $785. On the same day, through the same Amazon account (my PERSONAL account since I also have a business account), I purchased an Asurion Complete Protect policy at the cost of $16.99 per month plus taxes. About one month ago, a problem arose with the chair that required me to make a claim using the "Complete Protect" policy that I had purchased for that very item. The claim was initiated on January 1st, 2025 - On January 3rd, I received an email asking me for photographs showing the damage for which I was making a claim. I sent those photographs via email to the address provided on January 6th. On January 27th, having not received ANY response from Asurion, I contacted them via phone and was told that my purchase had been made with a business account, that it was being used for business purposes, and was therefore not covered. I assured the Asurion Representative that it was most certainly not a business use, and that the chair that I was claiming for had been purchased because I had extensive shoulder surgery done that made it impossible to get in and out of bed. After speaking (unsuccessfully) with the Asurion Rep, I then contacted Amazon Customer Service. I spoke with an Amazon Customer Service Representative on the phone who confirmed that I had in fact used my personal account to purchase the chair and the Asurion Complete Protect policy. That representative went on to send a message to Asurion on my behalf confirming that the purchase was for personal use and not business use. Asurion responded, asking me to call them with the order number for the Asurion purchase. The number I gave was the exact same order number on my order history, however, the Asurion Rep could not find it. I was finally able to discover that the order number in Asurion's system was entirely different and isn't even in the same format as an Amazon order number. Upon the Asurion representative finding my plan, she informed me that the chair was listed as being purchased for business use (despite Amazon confirming that it was NOT) but that I should give them "a couple of business days" to resolve the issue. Five business days later, still no response and so I called them again (Yesterday - February 1st 2025)... Lo and behold, I got the same crap yet again... the purchase was listed as business use and was therefore being denied, but she promised to remove the business use commentary and put the claim through again. Today, February 2nd, I called Amazon yet again to escalate and had to call THREE times because the first two calls resulted in me finally being connected to an Asurion representative (two different reps) and each time, the Asurion representative hung up the phone as soon as my name was mentioned. It has become clear to me that the Asurion "Complete Protect" policy is a SCAM - they will NOT take care of your issue, regardless of how long you've been paying. I have been paying every month since March 9th last year - so they've received over $170 from me thus far, with zero other claims, and if I am able to cancel right now, I will only receive $16.99 back. All I want, is the chair that I purchased the policy for coverage of, to be repaired or replaced. Asurion are NOT helping, and are actively avoiding contact. At this point, I am considering legal action against Asurion for fraud - perhaps even a Class Action. I'll wait and see if my issue gets resolved within the next 10 days or so.

Glad to have Asurion Protection Plan!!! So easy to file a claim and get refunded!!!
I bought my ongoing protection plan about six months ago and had not used it for anything. About the same time, I purchased a small fountain for our front porch. A few weeks ago, the pump stopped working and I did everything I could think of to fix the pump, first check to see if the electrical outlet it had been plugged into still worked and it did. I then poured out all the water, added fresh water, then opened the pump to wash it out and remove any debris it had inside. There was none, and of course by now, the manufacturer's return date ended about four months ago. I was very nervous to submit a claim -- I was afraid I would get rejected, that I would have to pack up and return, or that I would be given 20 questions or more and provide mountains of paperwork to submit the claim. But it was surprisingly simple and easy, the person from Asurion was friendly and did her job incredibly well, my claim was created in their system in less than five minutes and I received a total refund minus the tax (turns out online retailer is not allowed to refund the tax because it was already paid to local and state governments. The cost of the fountain minus the tax was still about $165, which allowed me to upgrade to a much better water pump that had a higher output and also has something called "Burn Protection," ie overheating if the water level gets too low or if the pump gets plugged with debris. The total cost of the new pump was about $25 and has all kinds of amazing features as compared to the small fountain that didn't even have burn protection. I installed the new pump and it's working far better than the one that came with the fountain. Bottom line: I am so glad that I purchased the monthly protection plan from Asurion, and told my family how please I had it. They previously told me it was a waste of money and time because they wouldn't honor the claim. but they did, and I am so elated!

If you buy nice stuff frequently...it's worth it.
I've had this coverage for about ten months now and so far, I can't complain. There were a couple times I thought about canceling my coverage, hadn'tt used it in a while...glad I didn't. I just managed to accidentally break $250 worth of earhooks/earbuds. If I didnt have this coverage I would be S.O.L.....All I have to do now is pack it up and send it off. If they can fix them, Great!(I use them 8hrs a day, 5 days a week) If not...they'll reimburse me. It's pretty hassle free. The fact that you can keep adding new purchases to the coverage without an increase in the monthly premium is what sucked me in. Sounds too good to be true but it is. I make sure I purchase all my electronics from amazon now....they got me good with this one. So far Asurion has credited the full price of 2 broken cell phones to my Amazon account and I have no doubt they'll do good by me with this latest claim. Piece of mind is a real thing. Thank you.

Asurion is AWESOME!
Ok, so let me start with the fact that you should NOT waste your time calling Amazon's customer service if you think you have a claim under Asurion's monthly protection plan. CALL ASURION! I wasted almost an hour with Amazon representatives that have absolutely no training in how the Asurion plan works, or even any idea if my item was covered. In fact, they told me the mechanized chair I purchased under the plan wasn't covered! Finally, my call got escalated to a manager who was just as clueless about my coverage, but had the best idea ever... call Asurion! The smartest thing I did that morning was hang up with Amazon, and reach out to Asurion as I should have done in the first place. Dealing with Asurion's customer service, after my Amazon call, was like being elevated to VIP status! 😄 Asurion's rep nicely took all my info, including the chair's purchase date and order number. Then they asked that I upload a couple of pictures of the product, along with a written description of the malfunction I had mentioned over the phone. This is where it gets really good. They told me they'd review the claim to determine if they'd send a repair specialist or reimburse me the cost of the item. In less than 48 hours, they determined that a payout was in order, and sent me an email that included an Amazon gift card for the total cost of the item minus the taxes I had paid, which I loaded directly into my Amazon wallet. Apparently, Asurion does not include the purchase taxes in their coverage. But, I can live with that. All in all, Asurion's claims division get a double thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽, and the company gets big ups from me for not only standing behind their protection plan, but doing so expeditiously! Special note: If you buy a lot of stuff from Amazon, and have Asurion's monthly protection plan, scroll the item listing before pulling the trigger on your purchase... you need to see the green streamer that indicates your product is protected by the plan. If you don't see that, check to see if there are alternative products that might be covered. There are very few electronic or high ticket items that aren't covered, but looking for that green banner in the item description that says it's covered is key to foregoing any future headaches.

Absolutely thrilled with asurions complete protect plan. Worth every penny. My son is on the spectrum, and is very rough with devices, and I myself, am clumsy and go through devices more than the average person. Asurions comply protect plan, holds true and does exactly as promised. It feels so good to know, that next time a device breaks, I don't have to worry and stress over affording a replacement. Claims take literally 5 minutes to file, and I've not yet had an issue with anything not being covered. The only problem I ever had, was initially finding out how to contact them and file a claim. Which is simple. Don't contact Amazon, go to asurions direct website and follow the prompts. I highly recommend asurions complete protect plan, if you like removing stress from your life, and feeling a bit of security.
