If your 03-04 Ram has either succumbed to the common burnt 2nd gear, the bands have given out, or you're simply wanting to have a sturdy reliable transmission for your workhorse or sport truck, the SunCoast 48RE Category 3 transmission a perfect upgrade for towing, hauling or slightly modified trucks with a rating of 600 horsepower. There are several key components in this transmission that are upgraded to not only improve performance, but also restore hydraulic integrity leading to increased reliability and longevity.

For starters, the factory accumulator piston is plastic, which deteriorates over time causing it to crack or simply break. It's also not uncommon to see this accumulator piston cross-leak within the bore. To combat this, SunCoast engineered a billet four-ring sealing piston versus the factory two-ring. It is standard in all of SunCoast's units to replace this factory piston with their billet piston to not only restore hydraulic integrity, but to improve reliability as well.

To alleviate issues with the factory intermediate band circuit, SunCoast addressed several facets of the too common second gear band burnups on the 48RE. First, the servo that applies the intermediate band itself has been replaced with a larger billet servo that supplies more pressure and improved release. This servo also is improved to a four-ring servo, versus the factory two-ring, with the primary sealing ring being square-cut teflon and the secondary being an o-ring.

Additional upgrades to the band circuit include the addition of a billet band anchor, billet band strut, and a billet apply lever. The band is further upgraded to a pro-series, carbon graphite band to improve friction performance. The valve body and pump are also recalibrated and the separator plate is replaced with a new laser-cut, SunCoast proprietary plate. This allows not only optimal line pressure, but also increased volume. Each one of these valve bodies and pumps is custom built for the customer's individual needs, whether it be towing, street performance or track.

SunCoast also installs a billet one piece input shaft. This shaft is made from 300 maraging steel and is then heat treated and stress relieved to handle the additional demands of higher torque and stress loads, from a multi-disc torque converter. This shaft is precision ground to make it a true drop-in replacement.

Suncoast's 48RE Category 3 transmission also comes with new overdrive and lockup solenoids. The governor pressure sensor (transducer) is also replaced with a new unit. Additionally, all new 48RE transmissions get upgraded with a DNJ billet solenoid housing and upgraded governor solenoid.

A billet triple disc torque converter is included with this Suncoast 48RE transmission and is lined with carbon graphite clutch material and is equipped with a precision-CNC-machined, forged billet apply piston to ensure no deflection occurs. This in conjunction with SunCoast's billet cover ensures many years of performance and reliability. Also installed is a double deep trans pan to increase the available fluid, helping dissipate heat and ensure enough volume of fluid to keep you burning tires.

Also included with SunCoast's Category 3 transmission and torque converter, is a billet SFI certified flex plate.

Great product but a bit expensive
Style: Charging MagSafe Mount
Well built. Comes with cable management. The rear mechanism doesnt use adhesives, so it comes loose after heat and rough roads. Just put some sticky tape and itll work great. Charging speeds are fast and most importantly the ball joint is tight and doesnt shake over rough roads.

Good looks that betray a flawed locking mechanism
Style: Charging MagSafe Mount
I wanted to love the Spigen TapLock—its sleek design and promise of a secure, easy-to-use latch mechanism had me hopeful. At first, it felt solid, and the concept of a spin-to-lock system was clever. But after just a few weeks, the latch mechanism started failing. It wouldn’t adhere properly anymore, and the spin-to-lock feature became completely non-functional—no amount of spinning tightens the lock. Fixing it? Near impossible. The design buries the mechanism in a way that makes repairs a nightmare, and there’s no clear way to realign or replace parts without breaking it further. It’s a shame because the build quality isn’t terrible otherwise, but this critical flaw tanks it. One star—looks good, works briefly, then betrays you. The charge speed is pretty good.

Good product
Style: Charging MagSafe Mount
Great product. It allows my iPhone 15 pro to sit at the right angle so that it is not completely behind steering wheel. I like that it doesn’t use a glue base to secure to monitor. I have taken It off 3 times and it went back on well. The only negative I can find is that it’s a little bouncy or I should say more than I would like it to. I would recommend to a friend.

So so. Could be great with few improvements
Style: Charging MagSafe Mount
Overall, this mount is decent with good functionality and quality but a few things (short permanently affixed wire, no way to stow/hide, fixed arm length) make it annoyingly fall short of great. (Phone S24+, TPU case, ESR "magsafe" metal ring sticker) GREAT: Arm rotation (i.e. portrait/left to landscape/top) is super easy with one hand via a simple push of a button that clicks into position every 45 degrees. Great design unique to this model. Most others require a cumbersome loosening and retightening mechanism that is difficult with one hand and tedious to position where wanted. GOOD: Build quality. Secure and reliable attachment to screen without adhesive. Reliable wireless charging. Pad swivel/tilt is easy while staying tight and secure without any nut/screw to loosen. Includes attractive velcro (for carpet) and adhesive (for plastic) wire routing clips. SOSO: Magnet could be stronger to support phones (like mine) with a simple metal ring vs a fully magnetized magsafe insert - still holds strong enough while driving tho. No way to stow/hide the mount when not in use - no folding hinge - the pad bumps against the display when rotating down, so it won't rotate behind - no folding hinge either. Arm length not adjustable - my S24+ is positioned nicely as-is but larger phones may cover the Tesla display and smaller phones may be too far away from it. BAD: Wire too short to completely hide behind dash and under floor mat. Made worse by a permanently attached wire at the mount. Would be much better if attached via usbc, so it could be replaced with longer wire. NOTE: If a screen protector is installed on the Tesla display, this will cause it to bubble around the clamped edges.

Very well designed mount but loosens over time
Style: Charging MagSafe Mount
Works amazing but over time the mount loosens up and the phone sags or rotates on its own. There is no way to tighten it more - only the part that connects to the Tesla display.
