Під тиском переважаючих сил союзників втрати люфтваффе набули непоправного характеру. Для досвідчених пілотів, ветеранів боїв у Західній Європі та Росії смерть була майже неминучою, ще менше шансів вижити залишалося у молодих льотчиків, але наказу про відступ не надходило. Штейнхоф у своїх спогадах передає весь трагізм ситуації, що не розуміє, що відбувається, Герінг звинувачував у боягузтві прославлених асів і погрожував їм трибуналом. Зневажаючи його за некомпетентність, вони, як і раніше, йшли на вірну загибель.

I haven't actually experienced this watch ever running out of power even after months of use. Damn impressive, as it should be.
