VMI Sports KXR Stacked Essential Pre-Workout flips the script on typical high-stim pre-workouts. Instead of loading up on caffeine, it focuses on exogenous ketones (that's ketones from outside your body), super-absorbable chelated minerals, a chill amount of stims, and a bit of focus help. You get a low-stim option that boosts your readiness for training, sharpens your mind, and keeps energy flowing without the big crash from heavier stim stacks.

The star here is goBHB® beta-hydroxybutyrate salts: 2.4g calcium BHB, 2.4g sodium BHB, and 2.4g magnesium BHB. Beta-hydroxybutyrate is a ketone your body can burn for fuel, super handy if you're training with fewer carbs or just want smoother energy than what caffeine alone gives. goBHB® is the trusted brand from Compound Solutions, known for consistent quality in ketone supps. In the gym, this combo is what you'll notice most: even energy, better control during sets, and less reliance on huge caffeine doses to get going.

Magnesium stands out big time. You get 295mg total from magnesium beta-hydroxybutyrate and 500mg TRAACS® magnesium bisglycinate chelate. Magnesium helps with over 300 processes in your body, like stabilizing ATP (your energy molecule), nerve signals, and turning food into fuel. Adults need about 310-420mg a day, so this hits a good chunk of that. The TRAACS® form from Albion is a chelate, meaning it's bound to amino acids for better uptake and no gut issues. If you're a bit low on magnesium, this can mean stronger muscles, fewer cramps, and a steadier feel when you're pushing weights.

Chromium is included at 200mcg, right at th

Key Highlights

  • 7.2g total goBHB® ketone salts — split evenly with 2.4g each of calcium, sodium, and magnesium beta-hydroxybutyrate. This gives you real backup fuel for training, something caffeine-only pre-workouts just can't match.
  • 100mg caffeine from Robusta coffee — a easy-going dose that perks you up without the shakes. If you hate those 300mg+ monsters, this one's way easier to stick with day after day.
  • 295mg magnesium per scoop — that's a solid hit toward the 310-420mg you need daily. It helps with energy production, nerve signals, and keeping muscles firing right, not just a throw-in amount.
  • TRAACS® magnesium bisglycinate chelate — this is Albion's top-shelf chelated form, way better for absorption and your stomach than cheap oxides in budget formulas.
  • 200mcg chromium — hits the sweet spot for supporting blood sugar and insulin. It fits the vibe of better energy management, not just a stim rush.
  • TRAACS® chromium nicotinate glycinate chelate — no skimping here, this chelated version is stable and pairs great with the niacin and overall energy focus.
  • 300mg L-tyrosine — throws in some brain support to keep you locked in when workouts get tough. It's the building block for dopamine and norepinephrine, helping with mental toughness.
  • 50mg Alpha-GPC — a light boost for focus and connecting with your muscles. Not a huge dose, but it ties in nicely with the tyrosine and caffeine for better headspace.

Who Is This For?

  • Folks who like low-to-moderate caffeine and want pre support without anxiety, fast heart, or crashes. 100mg is chill, with goBHB® and minerals picking up the slack over heavy stims.
  • Athletes on low-carb or keto eats needing extra energy fuel. The goBHB® mineral mix fits that better than plain caffeine pre's.
  • After-work gym rats wanting to feel on point without 250-400mg messing up sleep. Low stims plus ketones and minerals keep it steady.
  • Everyday fitness peeps focused on hydration, muscle work, and sticking with it over wild stims. Sodium, magnesium, calcium in good forms make this a solid daily pick.
  • Intermediate lifters who know high stims kill consistency. If you train hard but want even energy over a big rush, moderate caffeine, tyrosine, and goBHB® nail it.
  • Guys short on magnesium wanting their pre to help fix that. 295mg plus TRAACS® bisglycinate does real work for your levels, unlike most in the game.

How to Use

Take one scoop 20-30 minutes pre-training. Gives the Robusta coffee caffeine time to perk you up and the ketone-mineral mix a head start. If you're new to stims or ketones, half-scoop first to test it out. Shake hard in cold water; minerals need that to mix right, better than stirring. Empty stomach speeds it up, but a light meal an hour before keeps it comfy if supps bug you. Skip stacking with high-caf burners or extra coffees if you want it clean. No forced cycling needed, but track overall caffeine and use it for workouts. Pairs great with creatine, intra carbs, or electrolytes for big sessions. Keep it sealed cool and dry—moisture messes with mineral powders.

What to Expect

Minutes 0-10: mixes easy and feels substantial from the minerals, lighter than heavy stim bombs. Minutes 10-20: 100mg caffeine brings clean alertness, making it easier to jump into your workout without a rush. Minutes 20-40: peak time—focus sharpens, energy steadies, and you're feeling primed thanks to ketones and minerals. Minutes 40-90: holds up better than big stims, no sharp drop since it's not all about caffeine. Days 1-7: figure out how it fits you. Weeks 2-4: steady magnesium and minerals add up, plus a pre habit you can keep without frying out.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much caffeine is in VMI Sports KXR Stacked Essential Pre-Workout?

Each serving provides 100mg caffeine from Robusta coffee. That places it firmly in the low-stim category compared with many pre-workouts that deliver 250-400mg per serving.

What makes KXR Stacked Essential different from a typical pre-workout?

Its identity is built around 7.2g total goBHB® ketone salts plus TRAACS® chelated minerals, not just caffeine. That means the formula is designed to support energy metabolism, electrolyte status, and training readiness with a smoother feel than stim-dominant formulas.

Is this a good pre-workout for low-carb or keto training?

Yes, that is one of the clearest use cases for this formula. The goBHB® beta-hydroxybutyrate salts supply exogenous ketones, which align well with users training in lower-carb contexts or seeking steadier non-carbohydrate energy support.

Is the formula fully transparent?

Yes. There is no proprietary blend, and the active ingredients are disclosed with their individual doses. That allows you to evaluate exactly what is in the formula rather than guessing what a blend name contains.

Will I feel a strong stimulant rush from this product?

No, and that is by design. At 100mg caffeine, most users feel cleaner alertness and smoother training energy rather than the intense rush associated with higher-stim pre-workouts.

Is the L-tyrosine dose clinically dosed?

Not by strict research standards. L-tyrosine shows its strongest stress-performance data at much higher acute intakes, often 100-150mg per kilogram bodyweight, so 300mg is best viewed as supportive rather than fully clinical.

How strong is the Alpha-GPC dose in this formula?

It is a light inclusion at 50mg. Alpha-GPC is often used at several hundred milligrams in more aggressive focus formulas, so here it plays a supporting role rather than serving as a major nootropic driver.

What is TRAACS® and why does it matter here?

TRAACS® is Albion Minerals’ chelation technology used for the magnesium, calcium, and chromium forms in this product. Chelated minerals are valued for quality, absorption characteristics, and generally better tolerability than cheaper inorganic mineral forms.

Can I stack KXR Stacked Essential with creatine?

Yes, and it is a smart stack. This formula does not include creatine, so adding 3-5g creatine monohydrate daily complements the pre-workout by supporting phosphocreatine regeneration and strength output alongside this formula’s energy and mineral support.

Is this product appropriate for evening workouts?

For many users, yes. Because it contains only 100mg caffeine, it is often easier to use later in the day than conventional pre-workouts, though anyone highly sensitive to caffeine should still test timing carefully.

The Tradition Lives
Format: Hardcover
Throughout the Christian experience, Christianity has been a religion of the heart, perhaps best represented by the exoteric outer symbol and ritual of the Tradition. However, the Spirit will not go lacking, and there have been those individualistic and Protestant minded folks who have injected the Christian experience with Pagan influence in order to better satisfy the mind. Sources have included the towering Plato and Plotinus, while the Egyptian influence has been the quiter yet rangier philosophy of Hermes Trismegistus. Whereever the Christian Revelation has intersected with this Greek and Egyptian Rationalism, the product has resulted in Western Esotericism. The Tradition has quietly lived through millenia of possible persecution, martyrdom and certainly marginalization, yet has survived all the same. This book puts a glass to this Tradition and puts it in perspective, and expertly in my view. Major players are highlighted and minor counterparts are covered as well. Each participant, whether it by Mirandola compiling the Christian Kabbalah, or Paracelsus pushing past Galen to bring medicine to the door step of empiricism, all have added their own unique vision to the bigger picture of Western Esotericism. Though the Tradition has it's roots in Egyptian and Greek Mystery Schools, it has been preserved, since the fall of the Roman Empire by Secret Societies such as Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry and even Theosophy and proves to be a viable option yet today for those who seek a deeper more inner sacred experience than what perhaps their outer religious profession provides. Wondering? This is a good place to start.

Serious[ly]
Format: Hardcover
This book is exactly what the title claims - a historical introduction. While although the author doesn't go into a great deal of depth, he more than makes up for it in breadth. The author starts with an attempt at defining what exactly esotericism is. After that, the book is arranged chronologically, starting with Hellenistic esotericism and proceeding through the Renaissance, the Enlightenment and up to the present. Each chapter centers on an individual or group of individuals who were influential thinkers in their time and place. At the end of each chapter, there is a list of books for further study, much like a textbook. It is serious; it is scholarly. It is most definitely not silly. If you are at all interested in a "Third Way", which is neither mainstream religion nor strictly empirical "scientism", this may be a gooding jumping-off point for you, as it was for me.

An amazing book that teaches a great history
Format: Kindle
This is a great book that takes the reader on an amazing journey through a part of Western history that is rarely taught. This book teaches the other side of the development of Western religion and after reading this book I now have a knew light on previous theological education. It is easy to understand but does not compromise on scholastic research and standards.

Probably The Best Introduction to Western Esotericism Available
Format: Hardcover
I recently completed my MA in Western Esotericism at the University of Exeter and studied under Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke. He is the Director of the Exeter Centre for the Study of Esotericism (EXESESO) at the University of Exeter. This book is structured in the same fashion as the MA program at Exeter and provides a comprehensive overview of the key topics in the field of Western esotericism. The book is chronological and begins in ancient Alexandria, through the Italian Renaissance, post-Reformation Germany and into the Age of Enlightenment. Goodrick-Clarke covers complex topics such as Hermeticism, Neo-Platonism, Alchemy, Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism and Theosophy but makes it understandable even to novice readers. The underlying theme behind the subject of Western esotericism is the continuity in the different schools of thought that can be traced though the two thousand period from ancient Alexandria to the present day. This is a subject that has been overlooked for many years due to its association with the occult and magic. Thanks to the work of Goodrick-Clarke and scholars such as Antoine Faivre and Wouter Hanegraaff it is now being given the respect it deserves. This is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in learning more.

A good overview
Format: Kindle
This book covers just about all of the key aspects and people you will find in Western mysticism. It will not give you anything new if you are already steeped in esoteric lore, but it can be a good review. Although I wish the author would have given an example or two of certain vague concepts (such as "correspondences"). I also did not care about the last chapter: It could have had a bit more critical sense concerning the supposed "scientific" evidence for New Age theories. Also, the author soberly reports equally the various theories of so many esotericists without any criticism. That is okay, but I cringe a bit when I think of the sometimes less than honest behavior of some these gurus of mysticism.
