A beautiful act of love and commemoration. The Victorian individual who had this fine and ornate jewel created, missed their lost loved one dearly. This rather unusual and lovely designed mourning ring would have been worn to keep a part of their loved on close always.

Set at the very centre is a small delicate glass locket compartment into which the lock of hair has been placed from the deceased loved one. Acts like these, remembering those who has past and carry their memory with your became popular place in Victorian times.

Surrounding this locket we have a halo of pearls and turquoise. The victorians were lovers of symbolism with the pearls being used to represent tears and the blue turquoise being forget me not flowers. This is a wonderful and fresher designed mourning ring.

Leading down each shoulder we have delicate engraving work enhancing the feel of the ring. Most beautifully there is also the addition of a personaly engrvaing within reading ‘I T B 1881‘

This would have been worn by a lady of the Victorian era of good standing in society. She would have worn this ring everyday, a beautiful reminder of those we have lost.

Condition: Overall in splendid antique condition. Ready to wear and be loved. Looking at the back of the band there maybe a historical sizing mark however this is well done and subtle to the eye.
